Akershus Equivalent?

So I just read the thread about the changes to the Akershus breakfast. Thank goodness for the DisBoards bc we would have been VERY disappointed when we go in a few weeks!! We loved the idea of the cold buffet and hot food being brought to the table. And the photo with Belle as well. It was our favorite ADR last time! Oh well.

So what would be the equivalent to Akershus experience-wise? My DD4 really wants to do a meal with the princesses but didn't like 1900 Park Faire last time we were there. I've been trying to get an ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table but can't seem to get in. Any suggestions????

Your only princess meal options are Akershus, CRT and 1900 Park Fare. Did you do the 1900 Park Fare breakfast? Breakfast has different characters then dinner does.

Even with the change, it's still your best bet! It's the best princess meal because of the parade they do with the kids - that's the best part for my little ones!

I would not change. The Princess interaction is good, and even though I love 1900 PF, you are not getting the "Princesses" you are getting Cinderella and the Tremaine Family. They are awesome, and one of my favorite families, but they are not the same to a Princess Fan.

I read that the cold food is now brought to the table. The selection is not a varied as it was, but you still are given fruit, yogurt, pastry and the cold meat, cheese and fish plate.

If you really want to change, 1900 for breakfast is Alice, the Mad Hatter and some friends of Pooh. I don't know if Mary Poppins is stillmeeting guests outside on her bench.

CRT is PRINCESS FEVER, but is pretty expensive. I am not sure you could even book this at this date, although folks drop ADR's all fo the time.

Honestly, i would just keep what you have because the truth is that in terms of food, the character meals leave a lot to be desired. You are paying for the character interaction, and the food just keeps you busy in between each Princess.

Even though I am not happy with the changes at Akershus, I am still going to keep my ADR for our October trip. Like the PP said, Akershus is still your best option for a princess meal (and we really like the breakfast food too). Don't get me wrong, we really like CRT too, but mainly because you are eating in the Castle, other then that, the food is ok. I think the princess interaction at Akershus is still really good (IMHO I think the CRT princess interaction is good too), the girls spend so much time at the table signing autographs and taking pictures and they really like to talk with their guests. If your little princess is up to it, the parade is cute (my girls are too old for that now ). As long as some of the cold food items are still brought to our table, I am o.k. with the changes, not happy but o.k. with it, and like I said in the other thread....as long as they still serve my cheesy potato casserole, I will be just fine .

Ok thank you all! I guess I will keep it for now. Ya'll are right with the awesome princess interaction. I heard from a couple people the interaction wasn't as great but if it still is we're in! I mean it WAS our fav ADR last time we went. And DH loved the hot food!

I really wanna get a CRT ressie, especially since we snagged free dining! So maybe there will be some pixie dust coming our way soon! (*fingers crossed!!*)

We did it for dinner. DD wasn't into the Tremaine family. And I wasn't impressed with the food. :/ I think we're gonna keep the ADR for Akershus. I mean it's for the characters and as long as they bring some kid friendly things to the table we will be ok lol
