I hope someone can help my confusion. :confused3 I have read several reviews and the menus for Akershus. Here are the questions for someone who has been recently.
1. Is it part buffett (the cold items) and then the rest plated?
2. Is it the same way for lunch and dinner?
3. Can you try more than one or get more of the hot items?
4. Finally - here's the biggie - Is it good?

I know someone out there can help and I thank you in advance.
We leave the 24th! WooHOO! :cheer2:

1. Is it part buffett (the cold items) and then the rest plated? Yes!

2. Is it the same way for lunch and dinner? Yes!

3. Can you try more than one or get more of the hot items? Yes! But you must order one at a time. When she brought our first hot dish we requested the next. They were happy to oblige and happy to even bring us just the parts of the entrees we wanted(we only wanted the mashed rutabega, not the other stuff that came with it.)

4. Finally - here's the biggie - Is it good? Both I and my 5 year old loved it. She's not very adventurous and she kept asking to go back.

I ditto the above post, and everyone in my party loved it. It is a lot of food considering the buffet and then a large entree. Bring a healthy appetite.

Thank you very much!!! I just called and booked it for lunch on the 30th!

Hi. I was there on Monday, 10/24/05 for the Princess Story Book Dinner.

1. Is it part buffett (the cold items) and then the rest plated?
All you can eat cold items. Okay small selection. You get to pick a hot plated entree, and you share 3 deserts with your group. The dessert was some fruit cookie bar, chocolate mouse, and rice pudding.

2. Is it the same way for lunch and dinner?
Was only there for dinner

3. Can you try more than one or get more of the hot items?
All you can eat cold, only one hot item.

4. Finally - here's the biggie - Is it good?
The food was okay. It's not worth the money for the food quality or quantity. You are paying for the experience of meeting the princesses. We spent $83 (with tax and tip) for 2 adults and one child. But if you have the dining plan, then it won't matter. If you're hungry and want a good meal, I'd eat somewhere else. If you want to meet the princesses, then this is a great place to do it.
