Am I wasting my time trying to check, everyday, for an ADR to open up for the first week in November at Akershus?

We made all of our ADRs at 180 days out but now my 2 year old, who had no interest in princesses at that time, is now all about the princesses.

No, not at all! And I would also check here, too. For the cancellation thread. If you can't get in there, do the 1900 Park fare dinner, it has cinderella, the prince, and the tremaines.

Check out the dining reservations under Restaurants and follow the November cancellation thread. Also check back on Disneys website around the 60 day mark when people get to pick their FPs. Many will release any extra reservations they're holding onto until they finish their plans and make their FPs. Also check back around the 45 day mark, packages are due to be paid off without penalty at 45 days. And then just check from 30 days on. I've gotten the most hard to get ADRs with days to spare - some even day prior to not incur the $10 cancelation fee.

Absolutely don't give up! We only just decided two weeks ago that we wanted to go to Disney world at the end of this month, so I only had a 24 day head's up to start planning. We scored a BOG dinner, Ohana breakfast, Askershus breakfast, Chef Mickey Breakfast, CP breakfast before the park opens, and some other hard to get ADR's and we are still 10 days from our trip. I see new stuff on there every day. Right before the trip, people start canceling reservations like crazy as it gets closer and they finally figure out exactly what they want to do. Just wait till it gets closer to your trip date, and check 3-4 times a day, you'll get it, as long as your diligent.

I would keep checking. I had trouble this year getting into BOG dinner but I got up every morning and got online around 5-6am and was able to get dinner. The breakfast at Akershus is great and the character interaction is wonderful so I wouldn't give up. Good luck!!

Definitely keep checking! We absolutely loved Akershus breakfast and last year I was able to snag an 8:20am adr a month out from our trip, by coordinating with someone on the November Cancellation thread. If you check the Nov cancellation thread each day, you might find something. Persistence also pays off! People change plans and cancel all the time. It is worth the time finding an adr!

Keep checking!! I am NOT a character person..at all..but I did the Akershus Breakfast last year with a group of ladies and it was an absolute blast! Plus the food is really great. So if I enjoyed it, your 2 year old will LOVE it.
