We are taking our first trip to WDW May 7-12 with our 4 yr. old twin girls. Our priorities at AK are the safari ride and Lion King. Which of these is best to do as soon as we arrive?

If you get there right at opening time, I would suggest getting a FP for the safari and then going to the LK show and riding the safari later.

Festival of the Lion King will have specified show times. You will need to pick up a schedule as soon as you enter the park. You can find them with the park maps. I would go to the safari ride when you first come to the park and then work one of the Lion King shows into my schedule. This was my 4 year old's favorite park. He continues to ask if he can go back this year to Animal Kingdom. (We're going again in July). He really enjoyed the walking (and/or stroller) trails where he got to see all the animals. He especially enjoyed the gorillas and the tigers.

Parent #1: take everybody's tickets, run over to the Safari, and get fastpasses.

Parent #2: Take the kids and a leisurely walk, let them check out the critters.

Meet up to attend the first show of the Lion King, then use the fastpasses to ride the safari.

We walk quickly to safari and ride it standby... line at opening is less than 20 minutes. Then we go to Lion King and get ushered right in as first performance is usually the least crowded. This worked for us the last 2 trips.

Since you'll be at AK, please read and consider the warnings for It's Tough To Be A Bug with 4 year olds. We've been to that show at least 15 times and there is always at least a few terrified toddlers screaming because they are so scared!!! We love it and maybe your twins would be just fine, but it is scary in parts... :scared:

I would second that! Dd couldn't handle this show at 4 years old. We had no idea what to expect having never done it before and we ended up having to leave early with her.

If I had known about some of the things included in the show, I would never have even tried it with her.
