AK or MK?

We will be doing both parks and have decided to split up the week by doing one park on Tues and the other on Thurs.

My question is which park which day?

I know that many people have said they did not like AK, but we are taking 3 kids 8,6 and 3. We think it is important to take them to a park that has a purpose (well kind of), all 3 of them are animal finatics!

OP - Is this your family's first trip? Are you planning to stay all day or do 1/2 days and rest at hotel? Do you have hoppers?

We just got back from our first family trip to WDW (DD7, DS7, DH, and I) and had to go to MK on the first morning. And the second morning. These were Wed. and Thur. We went to AK Fri. AM. Our week the MK was open 7AM-midnight (this includes the EMH AM everyday), and one night MK was open EMH until 3 AM. So it didn't matter what day we did MK vs. AK.

We had 4-day park hoppers and did most everything we wanted by visiting MK 3 half-days, Epcot 2 long half-days, AK 1 half-day, and MGM 1 half-day (this wasn't really that much time, considering the show times are spread out and overlapping).

FYI, we did enjoy AK, and you will, too.

I did my itinerary and tried to make sure we had MK on a day Spectro is playing. I think in peak season it's everyday but during other times of the year it's just a few times a week. If you want to see the show then see if it's playing on Tues or Thur.

Yes I did check on spectro, and it is not on either of those nights. Monday night- we are leaving tomorrow!

We will have 2day w/touch of magic- no hopper.

Is this your first trip? We usually only need 1/2 day to do AK. If you only have 2 one park tickets you may be wasting a half day on one of them by doing AK. MK is the best park for the ages of your kids and it always takes us 2 days to do that park (doesn't seem to matter what time of year). I would skip AK and do MK both days.

Why MK Tuesday and AK Thursday? I have AK Wed and MK MOn, Thursday and Sat in early Dec

We were told that Mon was the busiest day at MK, so we are trying to minimize the people. My soon has SI and is to frecked out my big crowds, alos we have other med problems with him as well.

Is it possible to get a hopper for just one day, If we buy two day tickets?

If we went to AK in the am and then wanted to hop to MK in the pm?

Well 1st off she asked which park Tues and Thurs....Also according to touringplans....MK is the park for Tues and avoid AK....So AK is to be had on thurs. by default...Also...I have been to MK in DEC on a Tues, Thurs, Mon, and a Friday....Tues was by far the best day till around 4pm when the party started letting in....Tues is also the current schedule for EMH evenings at AK....

Touringplans says attend MK on Sat....I have personally avoided Sats due to the chances of all the locals....Maybe someone with some sat. experience can help out with that....I know next time we go it will be a Tues....

Yes!!!....but its worth it....its like 18.95 I believe I paid a couple of months ago and am just now getting into all the info...WOW....you put in your dates and preferences and everything is geared towards your trip.....Advice and recommendations....Its good for 1 year....

I've been to MK on Sun in December and it is PACKED! I went because it was the only time Spectro was showing also, it was middle of Dec. Now with the MYW tickets you can purchase 1 day PH. HTH

I have never done MK on Sunday but have been to other parks and it was great....no crowds at all till about mid afternoon....Now keep in mind we always go the 2nd week in December....

If you were referring to my response...You are right it is worded mean after I re read it....SORRY I was not trying to be mean or anything....I was only saying that the main reason I said those 2 days is because thats the 2 days she asked about....I worded it harshly but was not meaning too....
