AK or Islands of Adventure?

yale, while we all do have our own opinions (and even though I agree with yours), many people on this board think differently. There is no need to patronize or attack anybody's opinions. For that, there's always the Community Board.

I think Yale was poking fun, and I agree with her. It is very rare that you see the predominant theme in a thread choosing US/IOA over anything to do with WDW and I think that is what she/he was referring to.

To the OP, as someone else suggested. I think If you have Park Hopper tickets you can get what you want out of Animal Kingdom in the EMH one morning. You will miss alot of interesting things, but you said that not much appeals to you in AK, so definitely do IOA.

If you choose tickets with the hopping feature, perhaps you can schedule AK for the morning they have EMH, and then go on to one of the other parks after. That way, it won't cost you another day on your admission tickets, and it will give you some flexibility to try out the park, even for just a few hours.

the "incredible" hulk has theming? What about Dr Doom? Dueling Dragons? The whole idea is a copy of Disneyland. Any simaliarities between the skyway at Disney and the Pteranodon Flyers at Universal?
I was referring to the "islands" theming...not the individual rides. Dueling Dragons has the best theming of any coaster I've ever been on IMHO and the Spiderman building is really neat. There are no similarities to the Skyway and P Flyers and the P Flyers is a kiddie coaster...not a sky ride per se. The Hulk and Dr. Doom don't have much in the way of theming but the ride is what people come to experience.

Yale...If you like Disney more than Universal that's fine...I happen to like both...there's nothing wrong with that. That's why I have annual passes to both.

Here are some pictures of the theming at IOA for Eoywin:

Since it looks like ypur going in september-that is off season. You could purchase the 1 day 2 park ticket for universal. Get there at park opening and you could easily do most of the attractions at the studios and ioa. This option is convenient in that you would not have to travel to universal twice and can still enjoy ak. Godd luck with ypur marriage!

Thanks for the pictures, Metro West!

And thanks to everyone for your posts.

I'll talk it over with my fiance after the wedding, once we are ready to really start planning this vacation :thumbsup2

your'e correct, IOA is a copy of Disneyland. don't you have to be over the age of 7 to post on these boards?

as much as we love and visit WDW, MGM doesn't compare to US. and two of our favorites- TOT and Fantasmic - are both at MGM. keep it on your schedule and visit IOA as well.

In March, my boyfriend and I were able to do US and IOA in one day with the Express Pass. We had no problem seeing everything.

As much as I like WDW, AK is a park that I can take a pass on...

IOA is the better way to go... ;)

Geeeeez. I like Animal Kingdom. But AK vs. IoA?? IoA. You gotta go.

I love both parks, IOA and AK -- and I don't do thrill rides. There's plenty to do for everyone in both parks, IMO.

However, I do think they're both half-day parks. My hubby does go on coasters, and we're always able to either of the parks in a half-day. My suggestion would be to do both...enjoy it all!

The Spiderman ride at IOA is truly incredible.

Metro West - great pics:sunny: thanks for posting.

to the op, since you'll be traveling in Sept./low season have you thought about "sneaking" in 1 night @ HRH? AAA rates are a good value considering you can walk to the park & get the priceless FOTL perc (good for day of check-in & check-out).
