Hi ! Well it seems alot of people have been coming back suggesting to skip the parks on their EE day. This has been for MK , MGM mostly.Did anyone do AK recently on EE day ?That's the ony park I have scheduled for EE.I thought get in early and out early. Were the crowds managable ??
Thanks !!
Heidi

AK is a good choice for EE because it gets so hot there. I think you will be able to get done in a few hours and move on to another park.

Hi,
We just returned August 7th. We did ee at each park and have to say that AK ee was the worst! It took over 30 minutes just to get our bags checked and approach the turnstile! By the time they openned the park, it was completely unbearable with the crowd! People couldn't even move! We went on the Safari ride with fp, then did our PS breakfast and headed to Epcot with only 30 minute wait for Test Track at 12 o'clock! We prett much walked on to everything else because it seems that everyone else was at AK. We used to be huge fans of ee, but it was not a good choice for us this time. Way too crowded. Maybe it's because of the fairy tale package? Hopefully things return to normal in terms of ee crowds.

hi,
i did ee at AK 2 mondays in early may and loved it both times. of course i rushed like everyone else to get to the safari;) , but couldn't resist the second visit stopping first to get pictures with the characters. milo and stitch were there and no line up at all, as everyone was rushing to the safari. i was still able to have my safari ride , see ITTBAB , hike through both trails and ride the dinosaur ride by noon. i really enjoyed being able to do so much early, and i was able to see a lot of animals too. it was getting busy by noon so i hopped to other parks for the afternoon. don't know about the crowds in the summer though.

We did EE at MK and AK in May and had no problem.....but if you want to know about summer, this is a completely different form of animal. We just returned last weekend after 11 days and EE was horrible at both MK and AK. We tried both and then avoided it like the plaque. Mind you, we are BIG EE fans and support it, but not in the summer. I posted on another thread that we tried EE at MK and it has packed. We then did MK on Wednesday and got more done in less time and had very little wait. But the biggest surprise we got was doing MK on Saturday morning. I've always avoided MK on Saturdays, but figured with the crowds we were encountering, this couldn't be any worse. Surprising it was the lightess crowd of any day we visited any park. Mind you that the night before was e-ticket and MK was open until 1:00 AM, so with that in mind it was a dream. We found AK was packed any and all mornings, but was much more doeable on non-EE days. In the fall we will go back to our routinue of EE-mornings.

Another option is to make a PS at AK before the park opens on a non-EE day. We did Donald's Breakfastosaurus and it was nice to get into the park early and be able to do a few things right when the park opens. Donald's is next to Dinoland, so we did a few things there and then left.

We just got back from our trip my suggestion is to go about 15 minutes after the park opens instead of right at 8:00. that way most of the intial crowd is through the gates. We skipped the EE day this trip at AK and went around 9:00 on another day. We headed straight to dinoland and rode everything with little or no wait.

We've got some evidence - not yet conclusive - that EE at the AK makes you wait longer (about 4 minutes on average) per attraction than a non-EE day. If it was me, I'd skip the AK on an EE day.

Have a great time either way - it's an excellent park.

We too did EE at MK & AK. MK was awesome for us..turned out great.
AK was definitly more crowded...but it did help a little...helped to beat the heat and get a little more done. It's manageable..and worth it in my opinion :)

We did the EE 7/28 and it was very busy...we were able to do the Safari, 2 trails, Bug's Life, lunch, and Rapids by around 2:30pm, and then fled (scorching hot.) I thought maybe it was not as efficient because they made us wait to get in the parking lot until 8am...
