AK, OKW or BW

I'm thinking about renting points and getting a villa for our next trip. These three resorts all cost the least point-wise. Which would you choose for location, amenities, things for young kiddos (will be 8, 7 & 4) to do, etc? I've only ever stayed at Pop so that's what I have to compare it to. Thank you Disney experts!

You can walk to epcot and the pools are spectacular.

OKW is our favorite. Largest rooms; very peaceful and relaxing.
BWV has a nice pool for the kids and great access for Epcot. Nice to be able to walk around the Boardwalk at night, but we've never really loved the food options for kids. Many complain about long walk to the rooms though.
Both OKW and BWV have great community halls for the kids.
AKV--cannot wait to try it!! But we really can't comment on the DVC rooms until we can try them. This ones all about the animals. For right now, it would be my least favorite for pools for the kids.

Either way--great deal for renting points at all locations. Just rented points to friends for the first time and saved them a ton!!
Keep in mind--if you're looking at this for your Nov 07 trip. BWV may be hard to get if it's during the Food & Wine Festival

OH--Forgot.
We really don't like the room layout of BWV as compared to OKW. Felt very cramped.

When are you planning to go? BWV standard view is difficult to get unless you have BWV points and make the reservation closer to 11 months out. AKV is very limited right now with only a few villas opening in Sept. Kidani will not be open until 2009.

Also, unless you get a two bedroom villa, you will only have bedding and linens for four person (four bath towels, four face cloths, two hand towels). A one bedroom villa has a king sized bed and one queen sized sleeper sofa. No rollaways. A family of five cannot reserve a studio.

If you are thinking of November, 2007 it might be a bit late to rent (unless a member has a reservation already that they cannot use).

October, November & December are popular months for DVC members.

Well, it'll just be 4 of us this time around so a studio is what we're looking for. Thanks for all the advice. We'll have to see if this works out! Thanks again.

I agree that the food options for kids are not great at BWV, but it's still my favorite. My kids can't get enough of the clown slide, the theme pool is big, and the quiet pool is actually quiet (not that i care) and it's large too and never crowded when i've been there. The kids also love the boardwalk at night w/ the jugglers, magicians, etc. Both my kids were picked as 'helpers' during these boardwalk shows at one time or another... it makes their trip!! They have a nice community hall too, and although i've never been to OKW, I think BWI is very compact compared to OKW. Don't they have internal shuttles in OKW? And of course, walking or boating to epcot and mgm can't be beat! we love to stroll around WS in the evening.

We have a 1-bedroom at OKW! And will be on the BWV waitlist thanks to two awesome DVC members. I'm so excited! Thanks again for all of your info & help.
