Do we really need a whole day to get through Ak, MGM and Epcot? I have heard a few different things and would like your opinions on it. Thanks so much!

EDITED: We are going September 8-15 if that makes a difference.

Depends on if you want to see everything or not, and also what time of year it is. We've used this shedule very frequently over the past few years (we've got two small children)

We spend a day and a half in MK, then hop to AK to finish that day. Our third day we spend at MGM and Epcot. Pretty much ride everything - we do skip alot of the non-ride things in AK (but don't miss Lion King!)

I would say yes a full day at MGM and AK and 2 days for EPCOT.Just so much to see and experience other than main attractions. You are going at a time when waits will not be to bad so I feel you have time to take in all Disney has to offer at these parks and really enjoy your experience. You will have the time to enjoy your meals without rushing so don't feel like you are burning up valuable touring time.Have a great trip.::yes:: :wave2:

EPCOT will take a full day to see Future World and World Showcase. We usually do AK and MGM in one day. Get to AK when it opens and head straight to the back to the Safari. Do that first then hit the other highlights at AK (It's Tough To Be A Bug, Lion King Show and whatever else interests you) then head to MGM to finish up that day.

We have never spent a full day at AK - just not enough to do there.

It really depends on just how much you are interested in at those parks. MGM does, IMO, require a full day if you want to see any of the shows simply because of the way they're scheduled. We easily spent two full mornings at AK, so I would think that if you want to see most of the things there a full day would be needed (keeping in mind that they close at 5:00, so it's not as long a day as at the other parks). Epcot takes two days, or at least one and a half, depending on how long you linger in each of the world showcase countries. They could all be done in less time, of course, but I prefer not to rush through if I don't have to.

I haven't been to AK yet, but my fiance and I really like animals, so we plan to spend an entire day there. I would imagine how long you spend at AK would depend on whether you want to walk the trails & see the animals, or if you (and/or your children) just want to go on the rides & see the shows, with little animal viewing. Some kids love animals and zoos, while some get bored to tears, so that would shorten your day.

It takes us 1 1/2 days at MGM, 2 days at Epcot and 1 day at AK. I have 3 ds's and they like to see and do everything. We really skip nothing and enjoy spending time in the parks. We don't do it commando style but move at a decent pace.

TOTALLY depends on you. Best bet is a park hopper, so you can freely come and go on whim.

We did AK in about 3 hours, and probably won't return again until their new ride opens. Just doesn't interest us much...

MK used to take a long time, but now that we're all adults, we hit our faves and skip most. I can see that families with children would spend the bulk of their time at this park...

We could spend days and days at Epcot and not get enough. Its my fave. The World Showcase, in itself, could take me a full week to savor... Add to that the other things, places to eat, great shopping, and diff performers, and it takes a while. Plus, I rarely shop at the other parks since most merchandise is repeated often, but in World Showcase, the items are unique. Takes longer to look =)

MGM takes a day, we love to repeat TOT and RR several times in a day, plus the shows are staggered. We also enjoy eating a sitdown at this park, which takes time.

Good luck!

We spilt our days like this:

MGM., MK, or AK in the am

Epcot in the pm... The crowds at Easter were very manageable this way! In fact it didn't seem really crowded at all! We did the morning parks until about 12:00, went back to our hotel, swam, ate lunch, and napped... We usually went to Epcot around 3:30 or 4...

I would do it this way again in a second....

Going in September does make a difference. But you also need to think about who's wth you. Small kids will slow you down at MK but not show much interest in most of what MGM has to offer. It flips when they get older. I have never been in September but would guess from what I've read that you will be able to do whatever you want without feeling you missed anything. If anything plan on being in more than one park in a day. If you finish up witha park in less time than you've figured you just find something else to do like Quest with that half day. My experience with being at DW in January is that you can actually get bored with it if you don't have those crowds slowing you down. Park hopping and leaving things undone gives you something to look forward to. Get a room near Epcot - Dolphin, Swan, Boardwalk - so that you can have a late dinner in Epcot every night except the nights that you're at MK for the fireworks and MGM for Fantasmic.
