AK.. Meal Plus Certificates

Has anyone purchased/used the meal plus certificates at AK?
the ones for an entree, bvg, box of popcorn or ice cr bar, and one bottled drink...
the ones for kids seem like a great deal! the adults are probly not the greatest deal, as they are 11.99, but the kids seem like a great price!
I was wondering, do the kids have to order a kid meal.... or any entree... my 9 yr old, would not be full on 4 ckn nuggets, adn small fry! lol!
Everything I have read, just says good for one entree....

I am not sure about the kid's meal but I think they have to order off of the kids choices.

We used the adult ones when we where there in June and it is a great deal. My husband and I had the salmon with fresh vegetables at Tusker house which was normally around 8 dollars. It was delicious. You get a drink with your lunch then a coupon for a drink and a snack later. We had the Toll House Ice Cream sandwiches. My kids got the barbecue at flame tree which was normally almost 9 dollars. We found it to be a great deal and very good food.

I think the adult certificates are a really good deal, too, especially if you're ordering one of the more expensive entrees. We paid $11.99 for certificates, and the late lunch I ordered last time at Flame Tree was the rib plate with baked beans and 1/2 cob of corn ($8.49) and a bottled water ($2.50). So, for an extra dollar I was able to get another bottle of water ($2.50) and popcorn (~$2.59) later in the day.

If you're buying the children's certificates they would have to order from the children's menu. However, if you add an ice cream treat to that meal (for example mini hot dogs, drink + potato chips), I think it would prove to be pretty filling.

Does anyone know if you can have pepperoni added to the kid's pizza at Pizzafari? My DS won't eat it without, and I would hate to have to buy an adult meal for him. (I wouldn't mind paying extra for the pepperoni -- just not $6 extra! LOL) (11.99 - 5.99 = 6.00 in case I wasn't clear enough on that )

I'm not sure about the pepperoni thing, but at Pizzafari the pizzas are the same size for everyone and the kids meal comes with a bag of lays chips as well. For one adult and two kids meals the total price before the vouchers were used was only one dollar less than I paid for the vouchers (they give you two reciepts-one when you purchase the vouchers and one when you order the food). So really the three ice creams and bottles of water/powerade were only $1.

You can buy the vouchers right at the restaurants (Pizzafari, Flame Tree, and Tusker House + I think at Restaurantosaurus) or at guest services near the entrance.

You can purchase these, at any counter service restaurant in AK, or at guest relations AK.

5.99 ages 3-11
11.99 ages 12+

Each certificate gets you
one entree & beverage
plus later on, one box of popcorn or ice cream bar, plus a bottled drink(water/powerade/etc)

Hope that helps you out! We have the quick and casual vouchers as well, but will be using these while in AK! The flame tree bbq sounds really good.. and a pretty good value!

I asked DS if he would eat plain pizza if he got a free ice cream...he said "for free ice cream? okay!" LOL
Of course I didn't tell him that I would've bought him the ice cream anyway!

patsal, that is an INCREDIBLE bargain! Sounds like this will be our best deal the entire trip. Too bad they don't offer something like this at all the parks! It actually makes it affordable to feed 3 kids. I don't mind spending $5-6 for a kids meal knowing they will get a drink and a treat later on "for free."
