We are thinking of booking a GV at AK in Dec 09 and wondered the differences and pros/ cons of booking the GV at Jambo vs Kidani Village? Also, any suggestions on preferred locations to request at each?

Thanks

I believe the GV in Jambo house are one floor, while the new Kidani ones will be two floors. Someone correct me if I am wrong. The Jambo house GV have a pool table.

We just got back from Jambo house last night. We were given a tour of the grand villas there. They are all on one floor. They are absolutely fabulous!
I took some pics, so I will try to post some later (after I unpack). And yes, they do have a pool table!

Jambo has the pool table, yes...cool!

Kidani GVs will sleep 14 people because there will be an additional sleeper sofa in the loft. If my thoughts are correct, I believe Kidani GVs will offer a huge viewing window that extends from the 1st floor living room to the recess in the ceiling.

Actually, according to my guide, the Kidani GVs will will only sleep 12. If you look at the DVC website, it says 12. He seemed to think that it is because of fire code rules or some such.

Not to hijack the thread, but how did you get a tour of the GV? Did you just ask at the front desk? I would love to get a look at one at AKV.

We kept on bumping into this guy, David, who was in charge of Mousekeeping on the Zebra trail. We would always see him in the hallway outside our room (5583). He is from Boston, as are we. So of course I chat him up. So one day when we were walking to the elevator, he says, "Hey guys, we're cleaning the Grand Villa, you want a tour?" And I reply "Don't threaten me with a good time!". So away we go, to tour the GV! DH took video and I took some shots with the still cam. I will upload them when DH gets home, because I don't know how! He also took us through a 1-bedroom, because we were only in a studio. What a great guy he was!

I just wanted to add that I was so impressed with our stay. We are new members. First time actually! And we are very happy with our purchase to say the least!

I guess it's all about what each guide says, mine said 14, and the loft sleeper is indicated on the floorplan. Makes no nevermind to me.

All I know is...it will be a LONG TIME before I bring another 10 people with me on a trip, especially staying in the "same room!" :headache:

Stuff like that never happens to me...that's awesome!
