AK general store?

We'll be staying at AKV for the first time in Oct. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a "general store" type of place where we can get pieces of fruit, small containers of milk, bread, etc at the resort? We like to try and have bfasts in the room if possible. We'll only have a mini-fridge so I think ordering groceries is out of the question. We wouldn't meet the minimum order requirement, nor have the storage room.

Also I saw that there is counter service place at AKL. Does it have a self-serve soda fountain station for the refillable mugs?

The Mara (the counter service place at AKL) will have everything you mention, above (including the self serve station for filling your mug).

Also, Zawadi Marketplace (the gift shop) has a bank of coolers, and some larger "food stuff" items, as well.

The refrigerators in DVC studios are typically quite a bit roomier than those in regular rooms. We haven't stayed in a studio at AKV but hopefully someone can help you here or on the DVC boards. But the studio freezers at BCV are large enough to store pizzas or some frozen dinners, etc..

That would be nice. I got spoiled in the 1 and 2 bdrm villas with those nice BIG refrigerators so we could occasionally eat in and save some $$ and calories!
