We'll probably only have time for one show. We have seen neither. Which one do you recommend and why?

FOTLK it is more energetic, the songs are better and recognizable (from the movie), the performers are amazing and you see a mix of talents: ballet, fire dancing, acrobatics, etc. The show also involves children in the parade at the end which seems to be a big hit with kids in the 5-10 range. We NEVER miss FOTLK. Also this show is about 25 minutes.

Nemo isn't all that. It's ok. The songs were written just for the stage show and are not recognizable, its kinda slow and boring at times and its puppets, not dancers and stage performers. They do some neat things with the puppets but after the first 20 minutes I get a little bored. We only make a point to watch this show every few years. This show will run about 30 minutes.

We love Nemo, and like FOTLK. But I have noticed some, by no means all, little kids seem more bored at Nemo. Not sure who travels with you, but it may depend on their attention span. I think there's more action at FOTLK, but more story to Nemo.

The ages of our group would have been helpful to provide in my original post. It's DH, me, our 11 yoDD, and my parents.

Thanks for the info!

FOTLK hands down! Tons of excitment. You really shouldn't miss it!

I 2nd FOTLK! We saw both and left partway through Nemo as not only was our DD who was 2 bored, but we were getting bored too.
At FOTLK you are sitting much closer to the performances and it really is more entertaining and energetic as the PP stated.

We originally planned to only see FOTLK because we thought we only had time for one. It was awesome! It is so colorful, energetic, artistic, the way the theater is designed makes you feel more involved in what is going on rather than being a spectator. And the music... the "Circle of Life" has always grabbed my attention since the original movie came out several years ago.

We ended up going to back AK on our last day and saw Nemo and FOTLK a 2nd time (we liked it that much!) I thought I would have a "it's okay" reaction to Nemo but we enjoyed it and were glad we saw it.

Still, if I could see one of them right now... it would hands down be FOTLK.

Whichever way you go, you'll be in Disney, and it will be awesome!

We love, love, love FOTLK!!!

We've never seen Nemo because the lines always seem too long and we just don't ever feel the need to make the time to wait to see it. There is so much more at AK that we like to experience.

We really enjoyed Nemo ..... until we saw Lion King! Lion King was AMAZING - the music, the singing, the acrobats, dancers, etc. - it was breath-taking. Nemo was ..... nice and my 9 yr-old told me later that she was a bit bored.

FOLK! It's way more fun. It's kind of a party that includes music from the film. Nemo is pretty, and definitely a unique staging of the story, but moves a bit too slow. It's just a retelling of the movie, with song.

FOTLK every day, and twice on Sunday. This has long been my favorite show at WDW. In the past, we had not managed to make it to Nemo, so we made it a point to do so this time.

And we regretted it.

Nemo was way too long for my DS2, and honestly, way too weird for the rest of us. Understand, I **love** WDW, had been looking forward to this show, was prepared to love it. But I just could not.

The costumes are great, and are very ingenious. The plot follows the Nemo movie as exactly as it can (perhaps one of the problems - the show is too long). The songs are energetic, but neither recognizable nor memorable. All in all, the show simply does not work.

My older kids (who enjoy pretty much every show in WDW) really disliked Nemo (and my daughter really likes the movie). I can't imagine that we'll sit through this one again.

We were not big fans of Nemo. The friends we went with loved it, but my kids got bored, and I was right there with them! We didn't love the ariel show at DHS either though, and everyone raves about that, so maybe we have poor taste in shows?
We are looking forward to trying FOTLK this time!

I love both for different reasons.

Nemo is just visually stunning to me. I get rather lost in the artistry, so the slow pacing of the story that others mentioned isn't a problem for me. I can see where many kids would not care for it.

That said, FOTLK is the performance that makes me cry (in a good way) because it feels like such a perfect "Disney" moment. I know in the middle of it that I really am in Disney because no one, anywhere could provide that same experience. It is not to be missed.

SO great to hear all of the good comments on FOTLK. We have been to AK three times now and never been able to see it. :( It is on our must do list for our trip next month!! :)

We've seen Festival of the Lion King many times - luv it!! We've seen Nemo once - since that time, every time we go near that area, my boys say "We ain't watchin' that again!" :rotfl:

We thought it was kind of weird. It was odd to me how the actors working the puppets talk and make facial expressions as if they weren't holding the puppets at all. Just weird! :confused3
