AK/FOP evening plan

Planning a very last minute trip and leaving in a week and trying to figure out a plan to get on FoP without waiting for an eternity....haven't been in 6 years so lots at AK is new to us!

Looking at April 15th...Park closes at 9:30, looks like there are RoL at both 8:45 and 10? Is this the case? Is there a way to see one of them and hit a late FoP without waiting forever? Ie could we watch the 8:45 RoL and then hop in line? Or another strategy that would work? We'd like to see both but FoP is the priority here....any help welcomed! I stay on top of all things Disney and am always helping someone plan a trip and strategize but this short of a timeline is testing me!

That's what I would try (and constantly refreshing MDE that day to try to get FP+), although I looked at the weather report and it's showing possible thunderstorms that evening so who knows what will happen re: ROL. We're scheduled for HEA dessert that same night. Here's hoping weather.com is wrong! I suppose one good thing about t-storms and rain is maybe crowds will be lower and/or folks will cancel their FP+s. I'm packing our ponchos!

Go to the early RoL. It’s about 15 minutes long and you’ll have plenty of time to stroll over to Pandora and line up for FoP. Just be sure to be there before 9:30.

Also, keep in mind that the posted wait times are intentionally exaggerated at night to discourage late riders. There have been several recent reports of 30 minute waits close to closing time even when the posted wait was 120+.
