AK - evening EMH

if the park normally closes at 5, will they keep the safari & the trails open late (+3 hrs) or will the animal attractions close at 5?

Right now, due to early sunset, the last safari truck is departing Harambe at 4:30 (park is open until 5), and both the Maharaja Jungle Trek and Pangani Forest Exploration Trail close at 5 (even if the park is open later, as was the case last week)

AK is my favourite park and it is so good to have an additional 3hr there.
the time will give me another opportunity to see Lion King show: now I will be able to see it three times that day.
As for Tarzan: unfortunately it is not as good a show IMO and I may or may not go see it again.

I just am so excited about seeing AK at night. I just think the park is so beautiful and deserves to be enjoyed at night as well as during the day. I can't wait to experience it. I think this is about my most favorite part of all the recently announced changes. Saving money is great, but the chance to see AK at night, WOW!

Can't wait to stroll around Harambe at night! I just hope they leave a few restaurants open later. They tend to close early at AK. I'd hate to have Rainforest Cafe be the only option.

I heard that the animals are really active at night... from those that had the opportunity to have the extra hours in May.

Are the Discovery Island Trails lighted at night? Are the animals in the Oasis viewable?

I am not sure if I am excited about this one or not.. In mkaing our plans to the park, I kept reminding myself to plan for AK early entry as I really want to see the animals on safari and am told that that is best in the morning.

Our plans have us arriving late on a Saturday night and leaving for home early Saturday morning, meaning no early entry for us to AK..will the late hours allow us to take safari and see alot of the animals? We are arriving the first week of October, I looked up the sunset times for Orlando when we are there at the sun sets around 6:00 p.m.

Oh I didn't even think about the restaurants. They close pretty early anyhow so what will be open on the late nights? I love the parade but we usually don;t stay that long and hate coming back to the park for just another couple of hours so the late hours will let us see the parade and then have time to do other things as well. But we need to eat! Keep Tusker House open on the late nights would be my choice.

SiIlly question - This is the first I have heard of EHM in the evening at AK. Is this available in Dec/2004 - or is this something that begins in Jan/2005?

Maps - if you're staying offsite, you'd still be able to wander around the park, but you wouldn't be able to see any shows, except any "streetmosphere" performers that may be around.
