Has anyone done the Rhino tour yet? We're thinking of either the elephants or the rhinos. We only have one day, so I'm wondering what people's general impressions were on these. Thanks.
The Rhino encounter is an full hour, and only once a day so far. Which might sway us to Elephants. But any thoughts/opinions are welcome.

We did the elephant tour, Caring for Giants. It was excellent and we got a close look of baby Stella. The rhino one hasn’t started but we are booked on the first day, November 1.

I did the elephant tour and did get to see baby Stella BUT when I paid for it in the park they said there was no guarantee that you would see any elephants. The elephants have a certain area in which they are allowed to roam, and they might not decide to come to the spot where you stand for the tour. The website does not say that. (I think I might have asked if we would see Baby Stella, which started the conversation.)

The rhino tour description includes this: "the rhinos’ keepers will take you backstage to meet these massive creatures as few people ever do" which sounds like you will definitely meet a rhino.

The Caring for Giants tour is wonderful! We did it last February. Here is my report:

The new rhino tour hasn't started yet. We got to pat one of the white rhinos during a now discontinued behind the scenes tour. We were driven to the rhino barn and got to talk to one of the keepers and pat the rhino through what were the biggest cage bars I have ever seen. The rhino was quite sedate and seemed to not really notice all of the attention she was getting. It was impressive to see some of the behind the scenes infrastructure and meet the people dedicated to taking care of the animals.

OK funny story. We rode KS with the same sisters who did single rider line on TT with us earlier in the trip. They we so funny. So we get off KS ride and the one sister says really loudly "I can't believe we actually got to pet the rhino" People were looking at her in amazement and my family just nodded and laughed. We still say that phrase any time we see a rhino :dance3:

Loved Caring for Giants. It was definitely worth the money. I have not heard about Rhino tours.
