AK day; look okay, too ambitious?

This has me a little concerned. We have Tusker House at 10:40, Kilimanjaro Safari 12:25-12:25, and need to check-in at Caring for Giants at 12:45 for a 1:00 tour. Is Tusker House usually running that far behind? I was hoping to be out around 11:45 which I thought would give us time for Safari even if something happened to make it slow. Should I change the KS FP+?
We have eaten at TH several times and have been seated within 15 minutes, It usually takes us about an hour or less to eat. There are just 2 of us and we have no little ones. I would say you would be done about 11:45 or 12:00. You can always get up and leave when you want.
The safari ride takes about 40 minutes so I don't think you will be done with that by 12:45. I would move the safari ride to after Caring for the Giants.

Thanks! @PPFlight75 We'll do both Rafiki Planet Watch and the jungle trek. Good to know the last time for Rafiki is 4 pm!

We aren't rope drop people either. I think you can do the attractions you are trying to.

On possibly cancelling Tusker: that is one of our favorites, especially at 10:35 like you have. At that time, you get the breakfast food and the change over to lunch. Starbucks or grabbing something at your resort works too, but I just wanted to make sure you knew that Tusker is a great meal.

It looks so good and thats why I made our ADR for that time; to get both food groups. LOL! Plus who can resist characters in safari gear?

I think it’s very doable. I completely understand not wanting to get up early for the EMH. We generally don’t bother with EMH because we go to WDW pretty frequently. We did this trip because we wanted to try out FOP even though we had a FP for later in the day. It really is an amazing ride. That said, I’m not waiting in line for 2-3 hours for anything. I figured if we really liked it, it would be great to know we could ride it a second time without a wait. I think that was the only park we made it in time for rope drop. I love AK.

We love AK too! Its always been DH's favorite park even before Pandora. We haven't been in nearly 6 years and not sure when our next trip will be; we are local to Disneyland so I hear you on EMH/rope drop; we go so often we don't find it necessary. I wouldn't wait in line for 2 hours for any ride, not even FOP. I am glad we scored Fps because my other plan was to ride near closing and hope the posted wait time was exaggerated.

How packed was EMH?

To me this looks good and not too ambitious.

You may be able to get preferred seating for RoL with your Tusker House meal if a package is being offered (not sure about that). It would be nice but not necessary.

Our last trip we had a late breakfast at Tusker and for dinner a few small plates and drinks at Nomad lounge which worked out nice.

You should be able to get additional FPs for everything but the Pandora rides. Depending on how close to open you arrive Navi River may be possible to do first.

I am assuming Tusker House will cost more as past of the ROL package? I will look into it. I am struggling a little spending that much on a buffet as it is because DH and I are not huge eaters and generally share but it looks like a good time and the menu looks different from a typical buffet.

I am looking forward to Nomad Lounge; we may cancel Y&Y but wanted to have a reservation just in case.

Is Na'vi generally a walk on early in the day?

I have been reading that people are getting a 4th FP for the river ride now. Just keep refreshing for one to show up.

Thanks! I have been practicing my refreshing skills. LOL!

I was thinking the same thing. One of my favorite meals, at the perfect time (breakfast + lunch)!

Navi is a walk in at opening for maybe the first 15 minutes.

Ops that post did not work right lol. Anyway Navi is usually a walk on the first 15 minutes after opening.

I would not use a fast pass for Everest. You will easily get on through the standby line with little waiting arriving that early in the morning. And I too think your Tusker House schedule is fine. We usually arrive about 15 minutes early with a 10:30ish ADR and have never waited much beyond our scheduled time and get done about noon.

Really? Cool! What do you think Should get instead of EE?

We can arrive early to Tusker House as well which a good idea. :)

One thing I missed in OP's message was EMH start at 8. In that case I take it back and Navi river is likely to have a long wait even if they get there at 9.

I totally agree with this. Completely uninteresting.

Ugh, it looks/sounds promising. We are still going to watch it especially if DH wants to.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will have to shoot for that 4th FP.

My day is shaping up; I appreciate all the feedback.

I agree about ROL but my 9yo loved it. He cried and said it was the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. So I guess we will be seeing again next week
Everyone likes different things so I think it's good to give it a try. Have fun!

It's not completely uninteresting.
I thought all the light effects were pretty. The only thing I didn't like was sitting so close to everyone when it was hot and humid.
We won't go again for a few years, but it's worth seeing once.

The seats were unbearable to sit on too :scared:
I agree with that! The people next to us refused to move down when the CM told them to. Some people are just rude. I felt sorry for the CM he told him several times to move down but he never did. We finally walked around him and his group to fill in some space. We were pretty smooshed!

Really? Isn’t it about conservation? I have read mixed reviews. What’s so bad about it?

That’s good to know. I was thinking I’d need a FP for Lion King as it seems like a great way to bet the midday heat. I’ll FP River of Light instead.

Festival of the Lion King looks really neat.

PP said it was boring, not bad. Seems like it didn't matter the topic, just that it wasn't very entertaining.

That is so sweet about your 9 y/o @PPFlight75 We are for sure going to see it.

Pretty lights are good with me but sitting in a hot crowd? :scared: Yuck! Early August there won't be a way around hot or humid.

Are the metal? I am picturing like a stadium type backless bench.

Yikes!

PP said it was boring, not bad. Seems like it didn't matter the topic, just that it wasn't very entertaining.

Oops I equivocate bad with boring. I'm sure PP understood.

Thanks again all. I searched the RoL dining package and it looks to be only $5 more pp but they did not have breakfast available and I am not interested in dinner there. I looked at Tiffins and I don't like the menu though the pics of the restaurant are beautiful.
