Does anyone have any opinion/experience with arriving at AK at noon? I mean, would it be jam-packed, will all thr FPs be gone?

I'm thinking that many people use the strategy of arriving early and then leaving by noon. So far on my itinerary, the afternoon is the only time I can get to AK, unless I make some major changes. Please help!

I'd like to know the answer to this too. We'll be arriving around noon at CBR, and wondering if we have enough time to do AK that day, or plan on another whole day later on in the week.

In our experience, AK is just mobbed in the afternoon. I'd save it for a morning trip if at all possible.

Seeing your countdown looks like you're going to be there in the thick of the July 4th week crowds. I would say arriving in the afternoon-- it's gonna be packed. I don't think you're going to notice a huge shift in people leaving at noon. If you've never been to AK before, I wouldn't have this be my first visit. If you've done it before, they maybe give it a try. I just wouldn't expect low crowds-- especially by that time at the begining of July. You may be in for some lengthy waits.

We are doing the same thing on the 24th. We are arriving at 10 am and hope to go to the AK around 1. We plan on doing the Safari (with a fastpass), watching the gorillas, Dinosaur and ITTBAB. After that we are going to go to Epcot for dinner, and Illumination. If we have extra time at Epcot we will go on something.

To us the best part of AK is the safari. We like to get there first thing as this is when the animals seem to be the most active. We've been in the afternoon and all the cats are hid in the brush out of the hot Florida sun and out of sight.

I would really try to go in the morning if possible. The animals are more active and it is way less crowded.

I think in the afternoon the animals will be in hiding, trying to stay cool. I agree with kilee not to go if it's your first visit. You would be better off saving a day for it. Remember too that the park closes earlier than the others. If you are just interested in the shows like Tarzan, Flights of Wonder, or Lion King, see if you can find out the show times. Maybe that will work for you in the afternoon.

...need to activate our AP's. We probably won't get to the park much before 2pm on a Monday afternoon. We're ok with just walking around and saving rides for the next day when we go back early in the morning. I planned on activating the passes at AKL because its so close to the resort. We know its going to be crowded, but we don't care!!

I was just thinking about being at Animal Kingdom in July in the afternoon:scared:
I'm not into all that heat so I think I would be hiding in the shade with the animals:faint:

Everyone is talking about the crowds here...I say avoid this park at noon like the plague because of one good reason....THE HEAT. I absolutely love this park, but it can get miserably, unbearably hot by the noon hour. First thing in the morning or nothing! It is just too darn hot by 12:00. Whenever you go, be sure to see Festival of the Lion King, worth the price of admission. :D

I agree with Jillpie - the real issue at AK around noon in the summer is the heat! :faint: AK feels much hotter than the other parks, and it really impacts your touring. By noon, we've had all we can stand. I'd hate to be arriving in that heat. For those planning trips during cooler times of the year, arriving at noon might be a better option.

::yes:: - you wouldn't catch me dead in AK after 12:00... the heat is HORRIBLE!!!!!

Don't forget that Monday is EMH at AK. So you'll have the extra crowd factor too.
