AK - any rides close w/ rain???

Hi everyone, Tomorrow we leave for a wonderful week at Disney!!!! I can't believe our trip is finally here!

I've been watching the accuweather forecast and it seems to change daily as to the prediction of rain or no rain. We're really looking forward to our visit to AK and I was thinking, if it's a cloudy, sprinkling day, the animals might be more active and a little bit of rain might be a good thing. But when is it too MUCH of a good thing?

That is, if thunder comes along, do they stop the Safari and EE? (I would certainly expect them to stop Kali) if there's no thunder but the rain comes down torrentially do they close Safari and EE for a bit?

i leave sat and i checked the weather forecast. It is 87-90 and no rain in the forecast for 10 days. (last week there was chance but now that it is closer to the days, this may be more accurate. (of course i can be more wishful thinking).

I've been on the safari in rain (don't think there was thunder, but was a coupla years ago so memory is foggy). They do stop the Pocahontas show for rain though. We got to see the first couple of minutes of the show 3 times in one trip before it stopped for rain each time. Very wet trip.

Any of the outdoor "rides" will close temporarily for thunder storms. For the Safari, they just delay the departure from the gate for a little while until the storms pass... which is usually pretty quickly.

The Animal Kingdom is our absolutely favorite park. Our DD6 and DS12 love this place. Of the 8 times we've been there, it has rained 5 of those times. Those five times were the BEST! Low crowds, lots of animal activity. Just thinking about our rainy-day trip in July 2005 (during outer bands of Hurricane Dennis), makes me smile. It may have been the best day at any of the parks we've ever had.

So, if it rains, I would suggest that you make it a PRIORITY to go to the AK on that day. Have fun, and realize that I'm extremely jealous that you'll be at the AK.
