AirTran's at it again...

I fly Delta often and we have had the flight times change any time we went to MCO, but we tend to book those much further in advance than business travel. In some cases, it was just time shifts +/- 30 minutes, but once they completely cancelled the set of flights were were on. They rebooked us on something we didnt like - we had NO problem calling to make changes and we even got a credit back from them because the new flights were much cheaper than what we had booked originally. They also gave us new seat assignments automatically on the new flights...

Definitely call and talk to a real person to see what can be done!

That's why I am not using AirTran anymore for long term planning trips. We swtiched to Delta--cheaper and they don't tend to play musical flights.

LOL not our experience. Plus ouch to their new higher than anyone's baggage expense.

We flew Airtran last week and after they damaged my luggage, they basically said deal with it. They had changed our first flight to an hour earlier, but it was fine.

I usually fly Delta, but they've stopped doing direct flights from Richmond to MCO for most days. I am seriously considering driving the two hours to the Norfolk airport and flying Southwest for our November trip. Direct flight, no baggage fees, and friends and family are available to stay with and give us rides/pick us up from the airport.

Delta charges more than American's $25 first bag fee?

Delta just went up to 32.50 and then some fee on top of it I believe to make it a total of 35.00. I thought that is what I read but checking their website it saying 25. and 35 for the second. Gosh sorry if I am wrong but I was thinking I read and heard a story about this in the past week.

You can only change without a fee if they have made a flight time adjustment or if there is weather that is causing problems (that would not happen until the day before or day off a flight)

They BALK at flight changes if within three hours, so be prepared about that too! They say it is not enough "change" LESS disney time, are they for real??:rotfl2::rotfl2:

AirTran has to be one of the easiest airlines to work with when your flights change. I don't know of any out there that are easier. Yesterday must have been a big day for rescheduling and changing flight times. We have two upcoming trips and both of them changed of us or others in our party (not all on the same flights). Mid morning to mid afternoon the AirTran customer service line was jammed. Tried to call and was on hold for 30 minutes before we got cut off. We gave up and called back late in the evening and got right through.

In May our in-laws are traveling with us and flying back a week before us. They were flying in to and out of FLL. Their new flight back wasn't going to work for us since it was a half hour later and we were needing to drop them off real early so we can catch a cruise out of Port Canaveral. They allowed us to change their flight to leaving MCO instead of FLL. This makes it much easier for us to get to Port Canaveral to catch our cruise.

We also had a flight to MCO in July and the connection changed to a 30 minute layover in Atlanta (already had a connection). We weren't thrilled with the short layover, they allowed us to change to the direct flight.

I don't mind the changes as they usually have times that work for us and their times don't tend to change a lot. We also find their direct flights don't change as often as those connecting in Atlanta. I would not choose no to fly with them because of the changes in schedule.

Ugh...Delta/Northwest changed our flights for Hilton Head so much that we lost two whole days of vacation last summer...ended up taking all day to get there and had to leave at 7am to come home. We got a change notification every 2 or 3 weeks with them -some had two or three layovers too! Not fun with two little ones. We ended up with no seat assignments(despite my frequent phone calls and checking) at the airport on the way home too.

We are flying Air Tran to Disney...it can't be worse.

That's funny, because for our flight in June, we are driving from Norfolk to Richmond to fly AirTran! :lmao:

we just flew Air Tran and they did not change our schedule in either direction. I was very paranoid that they would but it didn't happen.
the flight down was not even half full, so i am surprised nothing changed with that one.
