Airtran?

Does anyone know of any Airtran codes? I signed up for the A+ rewards program, but it did not help me any so far...I am looking to book airfare for October and wondering if I can get it any better than $140 per person...that is what is posted for the month of October.

Anyone have any experience with Airtran dropping prices or are they pretty much set in stone? Have never flown them bfore....

I am not an expert, by any means, but from what I have seen over the last two or three years, AIRTRAN does not often lower prices once they are released. Prices only seem to go up.

BUT, they may run a short-term special that drastically cuts prices, at any time. If you are looking when they happen to run the special, you can take advantage of it.

Even if you purchase your tickets earlier, they will offer you a credit for the price difference on a future flight. I did that with a Jet Blue ticket once, and it basically gave me my airfare for free the following summer.

They had slashed prices by half, and I happened to call back during the special. I had hoped that they would credit my debit card for the difference, but the best they could do was offer me a voucher to use on a future trip. I was thrilled, though. It meant another trip to Disney!

We always fly Airtran and the prices are up due to gas prices. They are $150 more per ticket this year for us than last year. They do lower their prices, I usually check every few days. Last week it was $165 one way and today it's $214.00! They say Tuesday and Wednesdays are the best days to book.

Thank you for this...I had not even thought about the gas issues...I will definately check back on those days and will keep fingers crossed that the Middle East will calm down!
