AirTran regulars? Fare question...

I usually fly Southwest from Orlando to Manchester. I have award tickets to do that, but would like to fly into Portland Maine June 20th after work.

AirTran has a flight that meets my needs 6/20 MCO-PWM for $169. But the same flight on 6/21 is only $94. I like that fare better...a lot better. For $169, I'll probably stay home.

Do those of you with experience think the fare might come down on my flight? I have flown last minute with AirTran at a good fare (family emergency). I could fly up the morning of 6/21, but would rather get to Maine right after work Monday.

Suggestions? Thanks, Janet

did you check the seating chart for the flight? it's not 100% accurate but gives u a good feel for how heavy the flight is booked, typically = higher fare will prevail

That IS the sale fare! AirTran is having one of their almost-weekly Monday-Thursday sales for flights between now and Nov. 15. The lowest fares are for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Since you want to travel 2 weeks from now, I would buy that ticket!

Thanks for both tips Nancy! There are 44 seats available. I can only be at our camp for two days, so will just stay home if I can't get a better fare.
