My return dates in November are out. It's $99 + fees & Tax from Philly to MCO. I'm going to try and hold out for a discount. I just don't think I can wait months for Southwest to release dates. I rather have the airfare early.

I have to add that I clicked on flexible dates and the November & beyond dates were there. If you just click for set dates it still only shows for October.

Air tran has been at those same prices for weeks now (PHL - MCO). PHL to TPA is $89 each way (I think). BWI to MCO is $83 each way and is listed as an internet special. I was hoping Air tran would drop when SWA released their flights, but SWA is higher (like $117).

My theory is air tran will put out an internet special when SWA does. At least, I hope. I prefer to fly out of PHL on my August trip since I can talk my DH into driving and picking me up. My trip is a mother - son trip and I would love to save on parking!

It's just a waiting game for me, since August is value season and I'm not paying that much to fly. $179 is the most I want to pay!

I booked airtran days ago, the rate was 87.00 each way and a direct flight from INDY to ORL. So for the family of 5 it was a grand total of 966.50. I was happy with that, I may of gotten a bit better but I was not going to take a chance.

It most likely won't get better than that unless SW offers something super special. I'm backed into a corner now and had to book this morning as our morning flight is now gone at the $87 price and the lowest available price is now $127. I went and booked the only non-stop night flight the day before to get the $87 price because a night at a motel will be cheaper than an extra $40 x5pp. Our total out out Indy RT was $1018.50 for 5 ppl and a lap baby. But our flight home has 1 stop so that's where the extra is coming from. Should be interesting to get home after midnight with 4 exhausted kids! :scared1:

I was really hoping for $59 each way Philly to Orlando. I wonder if Airtran will go that low?

I can tell you for a fact that airtran NEVER went to $59 each way last August. I started searching for flights in April and checked EVERYDAY until I finally booked SWA out of BWI for $79 and $69. Then I got Dings to lower the price. I saw Air tran get to $89 out of PHL and August is value season. There were no deals during the 3 month period I searched continuously.

I think the price structure for flights out of PHL to MCO has changed for SWA and Air tran. I think its pretty permanent. Maybe it has something to do with the way locations are zoned. BWI has stayed about the same, but PHL one way fares have definately increased.

I finally broke down today and bought $84 each way PHL to MCO for our May trip. I kept hoping for a $59 each way fare (which we got last September) but could live with the $84. I didn't want to pay the $99 unless I had to. AirTran doesn't usually have sale prices for Sunday but today they did.

I looked at the flexible dates, and even though it listed to Feb 08, it said nothing was availble every time I checked. Not that I need the tickets right now, I just wanted to look :D

I'm going to take my chances and wait to book. I just don't want to pay over $800 for 4 people.
Southwest just complicated things for me. I got an email credit card offer from them. It offered 8 credits for signing up and then 8 more credits if I transfer a balance. So would equal a free flight. Their is still a $59 membership fee. And I have no clue what the APR is.

I tried to check for our Dec flight the way described using flexible dates. It said no flights available.

For those looking for cheap fares in Sept and Oct, I just booked Spirit for $105 round trip 9/29-10/3 out of Atlantic City. For that price I don't mind driving a little further to the airport!

I just booked Airtran for $59 each way earlier this week (on Feb 12). It was an internet special/web fare that only lasted a few hours. I checked again the same night and the special fare was gone and the lowest fare was back to $89/$99.

This is between BUF and MCO.

I can't believe that spirit had more $7 fares out of AC. I always miss them, or they don't fit in my dates.

On airtran specials. Right now I am checking a few times a day. I don't know if I can keep that up for months.

I was told by a friend that Airtran will not issue a credit for fare drops. So if you book and it goes lower you are out of luck.

The Oct fares are available until tonight. I signed up for their emails which give you advance notice.

Everyone, check out Airtran. They just lowered their fares on many flights (October) to $27.

Great price! Our flights would have been more than Spirit but there are tons more times available. I probably would have gone with Airtran if I hadn't booked Spirit already.:thumbsup2
