Just wondering how many of you actually had there flight changed by Air tran. I keep hearing how they add stops to nonstop flights and I am really nervous about using them. Thanks!

I use them all the time and the only time I've been bumped/changed is due to weather. We fly them regularly, at least once a month (mostly for business).

We're using Airtran for our October trip. We bought the tickets back in the Spring and have had two changes to our flights since then. The first change did indeed add a stop to our original non-stop flight home. The second change was for the better! We originally had a stop on the way to Disney, and the flight was changed to non-stop! :cool1: We're hoping it will stay this way. We got a really good deal on the tickets, so I can't complain too much!

They changed my DS15's flight from non-stop to a 40 minute connecting through ATL. They allowed us to pick a new flight time (to the only non-stop left that day) for no fee.

I booked flights for Oct and next March with AirTran after Midwest cut the flights I had scheduled origially. Last week, the outbound flight in December was changed twice in one day by AirTran! I had to call twice to get it back to the late afternoon nonstop when they first moved it to mid-day nonstop and then moved it again to early morning non-stop.

Thanks! I am feeling a little better about using them. I will probably be using them for my return flight from MCO. How and when should I check to see if they have changed this flight?

I bought my tickets Mother's Day weekend when they were giving away those $25.00 vouchers. Several weeks ago my September flights to and from Orlando and my January flight to Ft Lauderdale all three disappeared. I called and sure enough, they had been canceled. The CR had no problem putting us on new flights. We are leaving for Orlando an hour later and coming back three hours earlier, but at least the flights are still nonstop. For my Jan trip, I'll be getting into Ft Lauderdale a couple of hours later. The last time I flew Air Tran a couple of years ago, the times also changed several times, but only by a few minutes, so it wasn't a big deal. We've always enjoyed flying Air Tran.

I booked my NS Nov trip in late May and had one change each way, maybe the third weekend of June. I was alerted by thread here that AT was 'making big changes now' and sure enough my flights were gone. My flights have stayed steady since then, though prices recently rose again on those flights. There was no charge to change anything. They had switched us to two others flights that I didn't want, but, I called right away and she kindly helped me change my flights to a bit earlier of a NS on way down, and a few hours later NS flight home so that worked out good, more time there, so it all worked out fine. But, had I not noticed and not been checking daily, and not received a notice like some say, I would have not been happy, that's for sure! Never checked other flights anytime I've flown, and never had a change. Seems pretty common now. Most other posters I've heard have had good things to say about flying AT, so I expect a good experience. And, they had great prices, far lower than any others I was finding, I was almost leary of that at first, but came here and people were quite positive, other than the rep for changes sometimes. So, overall I'm definitely I found flights through AT! :goodvibes

I recently was notified of a change Airtran made in our flights.... we were originally leaving at 8am nonstop to MCO, they changed it to leaving at 6am with a 2 hour layover in Atlanta (which I was able to get changed to a 1 hour layover no charge), and we were coming home at 430pm, now we are coming home at 130pm..... So yes, they changed our flights :sad2:

I know many people have great success with them... but, so far I am not thrilled with them.....

So far for our Sept flight there has been 3 changes since booking the tickets in Feb. First was a change in time, then they cancelled our NS flights both ways (leaving no NS flights for either way), then we had another time change.

We are flying them for President's Week and they did change the schedule.

We were booked nonstop from White Plains to Fort Lauderdale and they re-booked us on a connection through Atlanta. What should be a 2 1/2 hour flight became an 8 hour ordeal for both ways of our trip.

But...I called them and they allowed me to actually not only switch flights, but airports at no extra charge.

We are now flying nonstop to West Palm Beach both ways.

As long as this holds, it will work out just fine for us.

We booked in May for flights in August and so far, no changes...:rolleyes1

We booked out flights for this December in March and they were just changed WITHOUT TELLING US last week  I only found out b/c I was checking our flights about every other week just b/c I'm like that ;)

It was our return flight FROM MCO...changed us from a 5 pm departure to an 8am departure...NO WAY I said...why bother paying for a hotel room the night before...no point...

SO...our TA from AAA wasn't able to get us the later non stop flight that night, but changed us to a 2:30 departure. Still too early for me, and I'm still upset over this...mostly b/c our 5 pm flight that they cancelled was FULL and NO ONE has booked any seats for the 8am flight that they changed it to.

Explain that reasoning to me:confused3 why cancel a full flight and change it to a flight that no one wants?????

We had a flight change. Bought tickets in March from IND-MCO for September. Both nonstop flights. Departure to MCO was changed from NS arriving at 2:30 PM to one arriving at 5:30PM or so with a stop in ATL. I called and they were fantastic about putting us on the early morning NS (I didn't book this originally because the price was higher). That flight has had a minor time change (30 minutes earlier or something). I check daily to see it there are time changes- then I can call right away with a flight that I would prefer to be on if the one I was put on doesn't work. It doesn't appear to be just Airtran when you read the boards. I was all set to have to be firm in getting them to change my flight but they were so nice. My flights are the first thing in the morning (to MCO) and last one at night (to IND) and NS. I feel good that they might makes changes to the 2 other mid-day ones before my early/late NS ones. The strange thing is my original flight is back on the schedule!

Have a fun trip...it is a pain to check...but I look at Airtran for flight times, check Airtran stock and read the disboards daily!

What days are you flying down and returning?

Booked in January. Two changes the most recent making us leave orlando at 10:00am rather than 11:30am.

We booked in January for a return flight from MCO to BUF. Everything was fine until late June when they changed the flight from 8 am departure non-stop to 3 pm non-stop. A little later than I would have liked but the silver lining is that we can stay in Disney much longer on our last day. The hitch was that they didn't tell us and I only found out after reading some posts on this board.

I called them to question why I wasn't notified. They totally apologized, said I should have received an email, and emailed me a new confirmation. Now I check my flights whenever I remember, since we're leaving in 39 days -yay! :goodvibes
