we had chosen...17...A,B,C,D,....today noticed they r not next to each other and no more B at all....glad i called..they said my 2 yr old.. had no seat at all...so they changed me too C,D,E,F...

You've probably been changed from a 737 to a 717. The difference being, a 737 has seats ABC DEF, where the 717 has AC DEF. That's about all I can think of....hope that helps...

I agree. It sounds lik AirTran switched the aircraft for the flight. This is a common practice.

I agree with PP's.

We had a flight last spring break where we were all together. The flight was changed and only some of us retained our seats. They had consolidated two flights and we were moved to a flight where people had already chosen some of the seats that we had.... we had to reselect seats.... this is another reason to keep a close eye on flights....

I had a similar situation, but they changed the flight number from 490 to 491. No notification or anything.

Their explanation was they rolled over all the information into a new form and I lost my seat assignment. I was glad I checked periodically, because I noticed a "?" mark in each of my seat assignments about a month after I booked. Good thing I did check.

I was sort-of upset with Airtran, because they didn't credit me for the $6.00 I paid each way. I would have thought once my seat assignment was lost, I would have received a credit, which would have put up a red flag.

Last winter, we had sort of the opposite situation. They changed our plane from one that was the 2-3 arrangement to the 3-3 arrangement. My son and I were traveling, and had taken the seats on the 2 seat side, but when we got on the plane, somebody had been assigned to the center seat, which was awkward for us, because they were actually sitting in the window seat, which we prefer to have. I just hate when they rearrange the seating that we had paid for in advance.
