AirTran Airways

I normally fly out of Detroit Metro (DTW) but I found a good fare through AirTran Airways out of Flint. Any one have any experience with this airline and/or airport that they would like to share...please

I saw that Airtran posted some good fares this morning, but I've also found that once an airlines drops it's rates, the other airlines usually follow suit. But you should do what you're comfortable with. Myself, I'll wait to see what the others offer. Waiting for a spring airfare sale right now--I've got plenty of time, not leaving for 9 weeks!!

I will be using AirTran this June but have not flown with them yet. I did read a number of glowing reports on these boards about AirTran over the last couple of months.
I really don't remember anyone saying anything negative about AirTran.

We just returned using Airtran & it was a very satisfying experience. They fly DC-9's & 717's. We were on 717 both ways & it has a little bit more leg room. The staff was great & courteous.

I went ahead and booked with Airtran today. Non-stop round trip for $200 a seat. That is the best I have found so far and I don't want to wait any longer. Good luck with better fares to those who are holding out!

I flew Airtran from Philly to Pittsburgh, a now discontinued flight, in July 2001. I'm sure things have changed somewhat since then but I had no problems at all with the flight. One plane seemed a bit worn on the inside but I've been on other planes in similar condition. Also I got beverage service twice on the ride home - pretty good for a 45min flight.

Just wanted to say that Air Tran out of Flint is great!! There is
no long waits at the airport. The airport is small compared to
Detroit. Much less of a hassle getting in and out. It makes
flying simple and easy. No problems with parking either. You won't regret flying out of Flint!

My SIL just told me how easy it is to fly out of Flint. Easy parking, no long lines and clean. I can't wait to go! Thanks for more encouraging words!

Another positive review for Airtran. Took them BWI to MCO for vacation last year ($142 per RT ticket), have used them often since for business. Nothing fancy, but the seats are fine, the pilots are trained, the planes get on time as much as anyone else, and their rates tend to be unbelievable occasionally.
