Airport to Disneyland?

Which airports do you usually fly into when visiting Disneyland and how do you get to Disneyland? Cab, shuttle bus, etc?

This is my first trip & we flew into SNA. Super small airport & we rented a car. It's 13 miles away from the airport & an easy drive.

We always land in Los Angeles (LAX) and take the Disneyland Express shuttle. We're flying international (from Montreal, Canada) so direct flight to LAX are cheaper for us...

I have mostly flown into LAX and always taken Disneyland Express. Depending on time of day, the drive to Disneyland can be an hour or more. I have flown into SNA once before and will be doing it again this November, and taking Disneyland Express from there as well. It is a much smaller airport, easy to navigate, and only 20 minutes by Disneyland Express!!! Can't wait!!!

When we fly it is SNA whenever possible. And usually we will take a cab because we have a big group and it is faster and cheaper.

We've flown to both LAX and SNA. We much prefer SNA since its so much easier to get around and to get to DLR. From SNA we usually just take a cab (~$40+tip) since its not much more than the DL Shuttle for the two of us and its much faster. From LAX you will want to take the DL Shuttle because a cab will cost ~$100 one way.

We've been flying into LAX recently because that is now the only place with a direct flight for us. Otherwise I'd select SNA if the price were comparable or only slightly higher.

Also we just use either one of the shuttle services or DL Express for transportation. It's one of the few times I don't have to drive and just get to relax on the road making it a true vacation!

I've used both LAX and SNA. If I can get a non-stop and the price is comparable, I will go with LAX. It's worth the extra commute time if I don't have to connect. If I can't get a non-stop, which is most often these days, I try to go with SNA. Either rent a car or take a shuttle. For LAX, I use Disneyland Express, it's more comfortable for the longer ride. For SNA, I use SuperShuttle, their schedule is more flexible and I think they are quicker.

I think I agree with all the PP. If I could get a direct flight to either SNA or LAX I would choose SNA. It is such a small manageable airport. I might choose LAX if it avoided a connecting flight though.

I've always rented a car in the past but next trip we are not. Last time our trip was 4 nights of a 9 night trip. I paid for the car those 4 days at GCH plus $35 night parking. I never saw the car for the time we were at DLR. This time four of us will just get a taxi or car service from SNA.

I have flown both SNA and LAX. This trip we will be flying into LGB and out of SNA.

I seem to be the loner here, but I absolutely DETEST LAX. I feel like I'm constantly stuck in a traffic jam just in the airport! However, if that was my only chance at a direct flight, I'd probably take it.

I much prefer SNA or LGB. Long Beach is so tiny that you can honestly show up 30 minutes before take off and walk the 100 yards through security to the plane with time to spare. SNA is also very small, but very easy to maneuver. It is usually cheapest for us to fly into LGB on Jet Blue, so we've been doing that quite a bit lately. You will be fine with either.

It is usually cheapest for us to take a cab from LGB to our hotel, but it depends on the number of people going. It's about $45 each way for a cab.

If I can help it, never again will we fly into LAX if we are going to Anaheim. We prefer LGB (but would definitely do SNA if the flights worked for us), and we always just catch a flat-rate taxi.

If at all possible we fly into Long Beach Airport (LGB). It is a little further away from the resort than SNA, but much, much smaller and more convenient. There are only 10 gates at the airport and we've been known to exit the plane, have a potty break, get our luggage, pick up our rental car and be exiting the airport in 20 minutes! It probably takes 20 minutes just to get the luggage claim at LAX. SNA is a little better, but still bigger than LGB.

The main exit from the airport, Wardlow Rd., turns into Ball Road, which is the north end of the resort.

If you want to take a taxi, there's a fixed rate, that you have to ask for, from LGB to the Disneyland Resort area hotels.

In order of preference, I'd fly into LGB, SNA, and just cancel the trip if I have to fly into LAX. (OK, maybe that a little extreme, but I hate big airports.)

We have done LAX in the past and have taken Disneyland Express from there. This last visit we went through SNA and will never go through LAX again. So much closer to DL. Hopped into a taxi (approx $40) and we were at our hotel in no time.
