We are flying from the Mid-Atlantic. Our flight should be about three hours. I hate to fly and normally need valium. Well, with an infant and a three year old I do not get to kick back on this plane ride. Since we do not fly often does anyone have any good plane tricks for the three year old? She is a very active and high strung kid. The baby will be fine. She is super easy going. We want to make the trip as easy as possible.

When we travled with my grandson from MA. to FL. starting when he was 6months old we took a dvd player (no tvs on planes) and that helped. Even if the airline you are using has tvs, they might not be showing anything good for your child. You can buy a dvd player for under $100.00 dollars and dvd's you know your child will like.

The DVD player is a good suggestion. Also, bring activities your daughter enjoys. Foe example, does she like to color? Crayola makes this great product called Color Wonder -- it's markers that ONLY work on special Color Wonder paper, so they don't stain skin, clothes, or airplane parts!

Also, try your best not to IN ANY WAY transmit your anxiety about flying to your kids. Kids pick up on these things better than we realize, and obviously you don't want to set her up for a lifetime of flying difficulty like you have. Try your best not to talk (in her presence) about your dreading the flight, and so on.

GOOD LUCK!
