Airmiles Armchair Chatter

Doing some leg work.....
Who has experience with ordering grocery type stuff and having it delivered in the Orlando area? Well, it's not food....it's shampoo, laundry pods etc. Who did you order from? I'm looking at Walmart and Publix right now. It looks like they both deliver in 2-3 hours. DD's is already trying to figure out what to remove from her luggage. Her three roomies showed up with a lot less but all are first timers. I had to remind her that she had her luggage but also had groceries, apartment supplies and I had made a welcome basket for all of them....it was a lot of stuff.

There were some tears last night. The youngest roomie is only 18 and never been away from home before.

:rolleyes1 just checked my AM receipts. My grand total is 155 miles from Fridays haul. I think I had previously said it was going to be 143 but must not have included the items I actually bought. I don't know. As long as the weather is nice this may be a regular thing.
They did stiff me on 14 miles. I think I should fight it :rotfl2:

I feel like we are Plant of the Apes....adapting and evolving to game this system!

I am really happy about the Dollarama offer.
I also have a link card offer for 25 Airmiles.
So for 10$ I should get 125 Airmiles.
My sons card has both offers also.

Try as I might I couldn't figure out how to use the Amazon Prime Day offer (nothing I need qualifies) and this makes me feel better knowing I'll still get some Airmiles.

I'm surprised seeing the Pharmasave offer ,,I thought they were joining later in the year.?
Oh well I'll give it a go this week and see.

I've Kind of changed my attitude and am liking the receipt offers.

We use Vacation Grocery Delivery for our items. They shop at publics. It might not be the cheapest route though.
It's just really convenient for us and they let you know if there is an item they can't get or might need to change, there is never a surprise.

I think the best bet is order directly from Publix or Walmart. No experience doing it there but grocery delivery here from Walmart is so easy plus no mark up on the items unlike Instacart / other services.

We are looking at Feb 16 to Mar 1. I'm not sure how to do the breakdown but it comes to $830 each with WestJet. It's a bit much in my eyes and when you are booking for two, it seems a lot.
Something will come about at some point, not in a real hurry. I may look at what I can get through AMs but they don't seem to have much better deals once you tack on the fees you need to pay.
Thanks for showing me this, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled.

Wait, relooking at what you posted, is this with using AMs?

Well not really but sort of
I used the $500 WestJet gift card I won last year via Airmiles suitcases.
Yeah I'd keep watching,, $830 seems high.

We paid just over 800/person from our city in Northern Alberta / Calgary / Orlando for October - which I thought was really good. I think you may be able to find a better deal.

How accurate does anything the wait times are on the Disney app right now?

I've been watching and checking to see the wait times - and see if some of the ILL sell out during the day and also how much of a time gap for some of the lightening lanes are.

I know they are CHANGING it allllllllllllll over again, so I'll be learning when and how to work the system again.

Wait times are pretty low compared to other times when I was tracking and looking. Are the parks really not that busy right now????

There have been some recent stats out saying that park attendance is down a significant amount this year. The day we were in Epcot last month both DD and her BFF commented about the park feeling empty. Yet crowd calendars were showing mainly 8's. It didn't feel that busy to me. Every time we got in a line for something we timed it and all were approx half of the posted time. We usually never get in a line that is showing more than 45-50 minutes. There are a few exceptions but even those would be 60-65 max.

I've been holding off ordering an Echo Spot because I thought, being an Amazon product, it might be a better sale on the product for Prime Days. It's the exact same price as it has been for the past month. I waited for nothing, LOL.
Anyone find any deals yet?

This is me running into the Grocery store this morning...............

Hope you are able to dry off a bit J.
Nice warm bath and dry towels are waiting for you.
& a cup of warm tea.
Thinking of you

These pictures will only really mean sumthin to people who travel thru union. OMG, so much rain, it's now impossible to get from the TTC to the trains due to flooding. The escalators stopped when the water reached the first step. Trains coming into union from the west have been cancelled but they've loaded us on to head that direction, fingers crossed we get out of the city!

You beat the news to the news update Jacqueline. I'm just watching about it on the News channel. I had no idea as it hasn't rained at all here today (yet!)

No rain here yet! Looks to be getting cloudy though so I guess it's coming. Kiddo is home from summer school for the day so I'm not going anywhere. He's had to do math, to get to pass. So far seems to be doing well at it, tomorrow is the last test and he's ahead of the other kids, been passing all the unit tests along the way. He's not sure how come he's passed them since he was coming into it with a lower grade, trying to explain if he'd actually gone to school he would have passed during the semester. Perhaps he'll learn from this? I can dream...

I did order a Ninja Creami from amazon. it's "house and kitchens" or something so was included and is over $150 even on sale (better be worth it lol) so I'll earn the bonus AM. I've been watching it for awhile and said I'd get it if it went on sale, so now I'll be able to make healthy ice cream I guess? I hope. I guess I'll need to get some actual milk or something to use in the machine. Look forward to trying it out!

The train stopped at Malton and just now sitting my butt down in a bus to mount pleasant (Google it to see) Hubby is driving to pick me up there. I was supposed to be home by 2 and I'm at least 90 minutes away.
No food left, and while i brought a battery pack i have no cable 😖

Gawd, all of this hassle for a 5 minute treatment, good thing it works but I won't notice any difference for at least another 2 weeks. Le sigh, first world problems i suppose.
