I'm not sure if i mentioned this before or not but i just got an email from Disney confirming what the general manager of POFQ offered us when we were leaving last week. They've comped us 4 nights in a king room at any moderate resort. Of course it would only be POFQ for us! This combined with the 7 days of park hoppers we got back onto our account means we can plan another trip sooner than we might otherwise have been able to and it can be for at least 10 days.

for those who think that disney has lost heart and that the magic is gone, the compassion, grace and love all of the staff we dealt with during some of our darkest days proves disney is still true to their core values. ❤️

Don't want to start a new post for this as it was a bummer last time but invites are veing sent out today for the Spring Sample Source promotion. Hope somebody will get one.
We are in Seattle for a few days and I opened my email this morning to see I got an invite this time! I could not get in until 9:45am PST but amazingly I got 11 samples! I was not invited last time so yay!

This so great to hear!
Yep the Magic is still there Hon.
At least 10 days is excellent.
Have fun planning and organizing the next big trip.

DD and I are trying to plan a quick trip down to WDW in May. I want to use her maingates and she wants to visit friends. There are several choices for resorts under her CM rate...so yay! MK is a total black out...so boo!

Who has booked a flight via AM? If I do, I'm looking at Air Canada....can it be added to my app for check in and seat selection?

I booked with AM Air Canada flights for May. I was able to attach it to my aeroplan account, so it is in my app, and pay to choose seats after. I was not able to choose seats when I booked the flights. They had actually assigned me seats but they were last row and I paid to move us up. It was easy to do online. I did not buy a meal for onboard. But that was also an option.

Off Topic ,,, ranting vent.

Intense ex·as·per·a·tion today.
I have been trying for over a month to get Xylitol melts at 4 Shoppers or 2 Rexall.
It is a small pill which when placed on the inside of mouth sticks to the gum and help provide stimulation of salivary glands.

I had radioactive iodine treatment to kill my thyroid gland years ago (multiple cold nodules growing on the gland) and it looks like it also effected my salivary glands.
No I was not told this could effect my salivary glands before agreeing to treatment.

To say the help I've received at Shoppers and Rexall was just plain *we don't care* would be putting it mildly.

Sometimes when I wake up lately I can't even speak from the dryness.

Today I said NO MORE ,,,, I marched into Shoppers and spoke with the pharmacist who was " ah I don't think we don't have it" I am busy and could careless! ,,,, to cashier who said *the pharmacist knows better than me... to another merchandiser who said I don't know where to look... to me who persisted by showing them that the product does exist and helping them locate it..... (used my phone to show product)

Honestly the addition of what Pharmacists are being asked to do lately is effecting the service they can and used to provide....Dx certain things and prescribe for them , flu shots , covid shots, shingles shots,

Ok Mel feels much better getting this off her chest.
Thanks for listening.

That is Olaf, he is my snow Bengal and he loves to sleep under the blanket but then gets too hot and pokes his little head out. He is so cute. He was laying stretched out on his back and I had to snap a pic. Another one below.

I'll tag on to this. I ran out of two meds today and tried to reorder with my doctor. I was always able to fill out a request online and submit it directly to my doctor who in turn, sent it to the pharmacy. I found out today that she no longer does this, I need to call the pharmacy and have them fax her to ask for the refill. The receptionist told me this was because only the pharmacy knows what I have left for the prescription. I'm pretty sure that the doctor has records of when she last prescribed but not about to start an argument that seemed logical.
Anyways, I called the pharmacy and, sure enough, the pharmacist told me they now needed to fax the request in but it would be a few days before anyone would know if the doctor okayed it.
Seems like a lot of extra work for the pharmacist when they have so much else to do. It's just an extra step that seems so unnecessary.

I'm sorry that is happening to you, Mel. We live in a small village with a pharmacy. Our pharmacist isn't someone who just sells things, he is a friend. He doesn't do COVID shots-he did originally, but said the work was waaaaay too much time away from what he needed to do. He does do our yearly flu shots. Maybe a small independent pharmacist is the way for you to go.

Could you try Costco pharmacy, Walmart, SuperStore pharm, Metro pharm. Get on the phone and start calling around. What about ordering online.

That's been the process with our doctor for years. Very simple to call the pharmacy, which is all automated, to order refills. Usually the meds are ready for pick up in 24hrs if you call Mon-Thurs. I suppose I thought everyone did it this way.

I'm looking at booking flights....
Opinions please.
I can book a round trip for approx 8000 miles and $365.
I could book one leg for cash of $400 and then book the other leg for 6000 miles and $115.
I would have to book each leg as a one way...the return options for a non stop are zero when it's set as RT. Though, if I were inclined to book a return with a 2 hour layover in Montreal the RT cost is only 1800 miles and $350.

OR….I can book out of BUF on Frontier for $200 but that is one day less. Would have to also add $75 for a bag.

That's interesting. I had never heard of doing it this way. Automated refills, yes, that has always been what we do. Just call and use the automated system, pick up in 24 hours. But to renew a script that has run out?
Having a prescription renewed now seems to be more work for the pharmacist. Just an additional step all around. Send a request off to the doctor who sends the script to the pharmacy or call the pharmacy to send the request off to the doctor who sends the script to the pharmacy.
Either way, it is what it is. Our new normal I guess.

I would be inclined to book direct, I avoid connections if at all possible. Even if it's booking as two bookings. If you want to use the AM.

I have never flown Frontier, but I'd look at some reviews maybe? Unless you have flown with them before. I would probably be tempted by that one. Seems to be the lowest cash and you save the AM, the one day less is :( Obviously they don't have daily flights, could you book it for an extra day instead of one less? The savings would pay for an extra hotel night I'm sure ;) Though that can be difficult with schedules.

I will do anything to have a non stop. I am very nervous with layovers. Lately I have seen to many who have missed connections because flights are late. I would also be worried about arriving in Montreal and have something happen that makes the two hour layover turn into a 24 hour layover. All that would take is a flight delayed at take off and the staff meeting the point where they have to switch out crews. Any of that could easily happen.
With the BUF flight, is that US funds? If so, you will not save any money. The exchange rate at the moment is a killer.
Sorry, not much help. I would go with booking each leg separate if it means non-stop. Everyone has their own comfort level though.
Just keep your eye on the prize and enjoy the trip.

Do you have any time to wait. I find the offerings change up daily when booking with Airmiles. Go on the airlines actual site and see what their availability is. Could be the reason the price is so high is that the direct flights are almost fully booked. If you can stalk the sites for a week or so and see if anything changes.

I agree with hdrolfe, direct flights if at all possible. How many people are flying? One or two is a completely different situation than say 4.
