Alrighty...just venting a little or a lot.

I've been locked out of access to my email from my web browser (laptop) for over 2 weeks now. The whole thing is so weird. I can access through the standard IPhone email app but that's it. So thankfully I at least have that. Not even sure I can explain it properly. I've got Bell and need to get in through bell.net or bell mail to my inbox and all my folders. I've got tons of important things stored in folders and now I've got docs that have been emailed that I need to download to my laptop. I can't access the folders or download this stuff from my phone. I've called tech support 5-6 times and every time it ends up being a 45-60 min call which I just can't keep doing....it's soooo frustrating. They have escalated it to some mystically higher power and called me back after 2 days to tell me that they found nothing. So their assessment is that it's my laptop and my answer to that was no because I've tried to log in from 4 other devices that are not even mine and I get the same thing. I've tried 3 different browsers and incognito windows. I get the same error message saying improper credentials and try again. My password has been changed 8 times. When I try to log in it looks like it's going to open as it goes to what the inbox should look like but everything is blank. I noticed a few days ago that the welcome message starts out with my name and then it changes to some other thing that is a bunch of letters. Today I was told to check my incoming mail server settings...which I did and it's all correct. Poking around again I discover that I can open my address book and go in the email settings. In the settings everything is correct except under profile it shows the name as the letters that the welcome message changed to.

The day this all started I tried to log in and got the you've tried too many times and now you are locked out message....but I only tried once.

So I'm stumped and getting angry at this point. I'm still locked out and will have to deal with yet another call to tech support.

So frustrating, hang in there. Hopefully you will find someone with a lightbulb moment and they will get it to work again. Can you set up say a gmail account and transfer all your files through your phone access to the gmail account?

Can’t do that. My phone is inbox only.

I’m currently thinking that maybe I should take my laptop to my tech guy for a tune up and also see if there is anything he can do about the email. Then I think, why should I have to pay someone to fix the problem.

You can't download them to a shared drive (OneDrive, Google Drive, I'm sure Apple has something like that too)?

I have no access to the Bell inbox. Can’t see any of the folders without being able to log in to the inbox. You bet once I get back in there I will be moving EVERYTHING.

OneDrive has also locked me out. It won’t accept the password and won’t accept my security answer to reset. I started using it as my word processor when my subscription expired to Office. So I’ve got documents in There that I can’t get to either. No big deal for that one …I’ve had to recreate some of it but there is nothing that important. My Bell inbox however has work contracts that I need….fortunately a couple of months ago I printed some.

I had sympatico way back when, and it suddenly disappeared, expired I believe, I ended up switching over to an Outlook account, just so it wouldn't matter who my service provider was. I also have a gmail account because I use android phones and they work better with that. I'm sure I lost a tonne of stuff from my old account. I’ve had this same email for over 20 years. To change it now would be a whole big thing that I really don’t want to deal with.
