Hi, we are from Australia and I'm looking for a list of reliable carriers from NYC to Orlando please. We don't mind who we use as long as we get there in one piece - but we will have luggage so if that makes a difference........ Wanting to save $$$ on flights so we have more to spend with Mickey! Oh and we are travelling in mid December so should we book as soon as tickets open up?

Which airport are you flying into? NYC area has 3 and not all airlines fly into all of them

There are many reliable carriers, but the ones that include luggage (no extra fees) are:

Jet Blue (out of JFL, LGA & HPN)

Southwest (out of LGA)

Enjoy!

I really like JetBlue out of HPN (White Plains) but that is outside of the city. It's a nice small airport that's easy to get around.

We've also done Delta out of LGA - not my favorite but it gets you there:rotfl:.

JetBlue also has many options out of JFK.

I would suggest La Guardia (LAG) not as hectic as JFK and closer to Manhatten. I would fly with JetBlue or Delta.

I would say go with united out of EWR avarge cost $ 150-300
Delta jetblue out of JFK & LGA $150- 300 as well they all fly no stop

you can always go airtrain or southwest if you want to do lay overs

Or Continental out of Newark (it's their hub). But you will have to pay luggage fees.

yea they are united now and Im lossing my first cheeked bag with my chase debet card (:

I'm flying American non-stop to Orlando from JFK on Friday. JetBlue is great. I had a real great experience with VirginAmerican last year and they fly non-stops to Orlando out of NYC.

JetBlue all the way..you can take it out of LGA or JFK..great prices, leather seats, free tv and first bag flies free..:thumbsup2

Sorry Tony. I forgot about the merger. Considering I travel maybe once a year and I'm booked on Continental for July, it completely didn't register. :flower3:

Given where you are staying in NYC you'll either need a car service or cab (unless you have a rental car) to get to any of the airports anyway. LaGuardia (LGA) is probably your best bet along with Delta. JFK is a bit further out than LGA and Newark (EWR) can be a problem due to the George Washington Bridge crossing into NJ.
Delta from HPN (Westchester County airport -north of NYC by approx. 30 mins) only has Delta connections but Jet Blue flies direct from HPN. Given that I live in Westchester we take Delta out of LGA and have no issues. I want to get to WDW as fast as I can with no detours! :) I have no info on Southwest/United/Continental/AirTran since I've always gotten good fares on Delta. Sorry about that.

Remember December is our winter and there can be (and are) transporation delays - Delta has a bigger fleet than Jet Blue. So far this winter there have been several shut downs of the airports as well as modified/cut back public transportation.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip! I'm green with envy - Disney in December.

Nonstop Airlines from NYC (JFK, LGA, EWR)-MCO:

New York-JFK(John F. Kennedy International Airport) in Queens, NY about 30 minutes to 1 hour from Midtown Manhattan:
-American-$25/bag, not a bad choice from JFK, but the plane was not in perfect condition and the baggage delivery at your destination was slow. The service and seats were OK and we got to Orlando safely and on time!
-Delta-$23/bag (online)/$25/bag, one of the better choices on the LGA/JFK-MCO. We have always had excellent inflight service, decent seats, free snacks and drinks, and quick baggage delivery. Depending on the type of plane, you may have inflight entertainment.
-jetBlue-$0/first bag, another excellent choice from JFK/LGA/EWR/HPN-MCO. You have a roomy seat, inflight entertainment, and free snacks and drinks :thumbsup2.

Newark-EWR (Newark Liberty International Airport) in Newark, NJ about 30 minutes from Midtown Manhattan:
-jetBlue-$0/first bag
-United-$25/bag

LaGuardia-LGA in Queens, NY about 30 minutes from Midtown Manhattan:
-Delta-$23/bag (online)/$25/bag
-jetBlue-$0/first bag

White Plains Airport in White Plains, NY about 1 hour from Midtown Manhattan:
-jetBlue-$0/first bag

Islip (MacArthur Airport) in Islip, NY about 1 hour from Midtown Manhattan:
-Southwest-$0/first two bags

Hope this helps and have a great trip!!

Why not enjoy seeing our east coast and take the train from Penn Station to Disney World-like we do!!

thanks everyone - I now have a shortlist Hadn't heard of Jet Blue before so will check then out - and never thought of the train. If it takes an hour to get to the airport and then we have to be there an hour or so beforehand it may be almost faster! I'll check out both options'

FYI: The train will take between 21 and 23 hours from NY to Orlando, Florida and will cost you approximately the same as a plane ticket, give or take a few dollars.

Wow - did I underestimate the travel time. As time is precious looks like it is flying for us!
