Airlines don't serve meals!?

I would rather bring my own food, or purchase the edible stuff they have now, than eat the other garbage they had. Airline food is not that deliscious!

Actually, I have not found the stuff they are selling to be that good. Some of it was downright weird, and I eat almost anything. My sandwich was ham with olive spread, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on ciabatta bread with some kind of flavored mayo (bc the olive spread was not enough?!). It was nasty, to tell you the truth. Too many flavors all mushed together. Oh, and it was ten bucks!

Take a look at these if you're interested:

I had to call the airlines myself to see if this was true on our tickets. It said snack..but he had to ck it out for himself. He said at the gate as you get on the plane, they'll be a brown bag if you want it. This will be our second flight for the day. We board at 10:15 am and arrive at 4:25pm.
THey said it was a sandwich and stuff. So I may opt to still pack our lunch at home. We leave at 6:25am for our first flight and I don't really want to lug around the lunches. A soft sided cooler is a good idea too. I was thinking of taking that into WDW anyways. Or an insulated backpack that I had asked on another post might be a good idea....so many decisions!! Don't think we'll starve though.

I regularly fly FC for work and will brown bag it even in first. The food in FC is pretty bad usually as well. They just put it on a nice glass plate. :p Lately I have been taking a 1:30PM flight out of Seattle (4 hour flight). I don't have time for a lunch break before leaving my client site, so I usually stop at the deli in the building and grab a salad to bring with me. I board first and usually finish it before we even take off. This gives me the freedom to work on my laptop or sleep rather than waiting for the mediocre food to be passed out. Almost anyone who travels regularly carries a small aresenal of packaged foods just in case. I always have granola bars, raisins, peanuts and crackers in my carry on bag even if just taking a quick hopper flight. If you are trapped on a runway for a few hours those granola bars are heaven sent. I don't bother with items that need refrigeration, because they are too much work. Also sometimes if there is turbulence they will suspend the meal service so having snacks is always a wise idea.

Another easy no refrigeration meal if you are leaving from home is a bagel with peanut butter and a banana.

Most major airports have some sort of quick service or pre packaged meals to buy in the terminal. They are expensive but when you are hungry who cares!

We always take plenty. We would rather be prepared, especially with so much down time just sitting on a flight anyway.
I have snack foods, and we also buy a meal before boarding.
We much rather be prepared and satisfied than frazzled, over tired and starved. The meal makes the trip much more enjoyable than having to rush and grab something else later.
And travelers never know when a flight may be delayed/cancelled.
We were on delayed flight into MCO where someone was claiming to be diabetic and needed serious food. (I had my doubts only because the airline was providing the traveler with orange juice and snacks and that didn't seem to make her happy at all. I would think anyone truly diabetic would carry food with them while traveling. )
I recall one trip where DH bought a large rib dinner and took it on the plane. The guy next to him was drooling. ;) We did give him our small cold meat sandwiches.
Airlines supposedly don't serve nuts any longer due to those with peanut allergies. But I, and many others, bring our own snacks, which probably include nuts. Logic would say that by serving their own food, the airline would have a more control.
Too bad they don't offer meals at extra cost while you are booking.

That would make more sense. Have everyone pre-pay the meal and you can order from a drop down menu or something.
