Currently looking at airline prices for our next trip, which airlines are not charging extra for baggage at this point. The only one I have seen so far is Southwest.

Jet Blue doesn't charge for the 1st bag. Southwest doesn't charge for the first two bags. I think that Alaska also doesn't charge for the 1st bag but I haven't ever flown with them.

Other than that I think everyone else charges.

Don't assume that just because someone is charging baggage fees that they will be cheaper. However, it is good to know how much they are for each airline charges when you search for fares online.

I fly out from BWI to MCO the Saturday after Thanksgiving and returned the following Saturday. I flew non-stop both ways on Airtran, and even with the seat fee and the baggage fee, my round trip total was still $50.00 less than Southwest. My flight never changed and they were both very desirable flights - going down early morning and coming back late afternoon.

And I was able to use RAC - so I would have paid it, even if it was a bit more.

thanks for all the links bigt help

usually fly airtran out of Columbus, but still looking at others

Most likely will use 2 bags going down with 2 other bags inside if weight is right
then on way back see where we are at with the extra stuff we will buy
