airline seat assignments

What the heck else does a TA have to do? THis is THEIR JOB, travel arrangements.

They did that, they arranged the flight and issued the tickets. The airline is the one who changed the seats after the TA made the reservation. I doubt they informed the travel agent they made changes. Just like they don't call passengers who book direct to tell them their seats were changed. Travel agent fees would be huge if they were expected to constantly check the flight status and seat assignments for all the tickets they issued. If they are informed by the airline there has been a change, then it is their job to see if anything can be done. But usually by then it is too late. A travel agent can't go online and start moving people around the plane.

I'll move for kids to sit with parents, but I won't move for adults to sit together unless they come up with a really good story. "We're together" won't do it. Neither will "We're married." "We just got married" might if the happy couple was nice enough and didn't get snotty. "We're scared to fly and want to sit together in case something happens" would do it because it bothers me, too. Make notes, couples.

And I am very very happy with low fares, no matter what the service is. If I can't afford the fare, even if the service is fantastic I wouldn't know it. I can put up with anything for two hours.

Don't be so sure. Karma's a killer when it catches up to you.

You know, that's where you are so wrong. I'm very sympathetic and generous and kind hearted, whether you want to believe it or not. But I won't be bullied into things. Especially by parents who seem to feel it's their God given right to impose their children and their childrens toys and video noise and snot and everything else that goes with children on others.

I need an aisle seat. I am claustrophobic and get panic attacks. That is why I wouldn't give up my seat for a child to sit with their parents. Frankly that's my business, not yours or anyone elses. And even if that wasn't the case, it's still none of your business.

My son has disabilities, and I NEVER used that as an excuse to get preferential treatment--the one time we were bumped off our flight and couldn't get seats together, we waited until we could do so on a later flight. I have EARNED preferential treatment through my loyalty to various companies. When I'm flying a carrier I do'nt get preferential treatment on, like SW, I do what it takes--getting an "A" pass and getting their early to sit in line to get the seat I need.

At any rate, it doesn't matter because you don't get it and never will.

Happy flying.

Anne

:rotfl: We want to believe it, we really do. :rotfl2:

No one asked you to divulge that information which is none of our business. Relax, no one here is personally asking YOU to give up your seat.

I was just wondering if I'd rather sit next to a snotty child or someone freaking out with a panic attack. :scratchin

Happy flying ;)

Unlike many, I choose to keep my generosity to others on the down low.

As far as who I'd rather sit next to, give me the person with the panic attack. At least snot isn't involved.

Anne, we should post a poll, just for the fun of it! :lmao:
I'd vote panic attack over snot!

To the OP
As a FF I see people moving their seats all the time for children. Because anyone with any common sense at all realizes that a childs welfare is everyone's responsibility.

A full blown panic attack? You'll be getting a lot more then just snot.

Ok, you just convinced me to change my vote. I choose snot!

I so agree with Mumzie2three. I would rather sit next to a child any day than an adult. The last couple of flights we have had some real stick in the mudd adults with attitudes sitting next to me and my DS. :snooty:

Okey dokey guys.....I believe this one has run it's course. I believe that everyone has had the chance to air their particular viewpoint and give their particular advice. It's done now. Happy flying all!
