We have a Dec. flight booked on Delta, through Travelocity.

It was originally non-stop, but 3 days after we booked it, they changed the outbound flight to a connecting flight.

That was 3 weeks ago.

Our return flight is still listed as a non-stop flight, but that flight is no longer in the system. We are flying out of Moline, IL & Delta pulled all of the non-stop flights.

Travelocity said I need to wait for Delta to officially change the return flight.

Is that correct, or should I call Delta to find out about the return flight?

I know that it's along way off, but
1. I want to make sure we're not stuck on an early morning flight.
2. My parents have health issues, so I want to make sure our connection time is long enough.

You can check with Delta, but Travelocity - as the Travel Agent - "owns" your reservation, which means chances are Delta won't allow YOU to make any changes. You'll have to work through Travelocity.

So long as you get a decent agent with Delta on the phone, you shouldn't have a problem changing your flights directly with them, if that's what you wanted to do. Your confirmation number shouldn't change at all. Delta has canceled the flight times you want, and you're entitled to ask them for new flights, at the times you want. (I don't know about your area, but sometimes they will even let you change to another airport to get the nonstop that you wanted. But just remember that the flights could change many, many times before December. But on the same note, any schedule change that they do, your also entitled to change your flights because that wasn't what you purchased. :thumbsup2 Call Delta and let them know that your dissapointed with the removal of the nonstop. If enough people call, you never know, the flight might reappear. Also ask for wheelchair assistance at the connection city, since you mentioned your parents have health issues. This will also ensure helpfulness with connection times too.
Or at least, that's what I would do. :wave2:

The trip was booked through Travelocity. It is possible, as another poster has suggested, that the OP cannot personally change her flights booked through them by contacting Delta (I did check Travelocity's site and they say you need to telephone them to change reservations).

This is one reason I never books flights through these sites.

We booked everything through Disney, I know that Delta has changed our flights several times. I had to change it once, and everything had to go through Disney. They were really nice about it, I would hope that travelocity would be too. I am also from IL, can't place Moline, but we are flying from Indy. If something big would change we would look flying from ohare in chicago...I didn't know if these would be options for you or not.

Thanks everyone. :)

I don't have a problem going through Travelocity - they were very helpful when I called about the flight change. They just weren't able to do anything about the return flight situation - and I wanted to confirm that because of reports that you don't always get accurate info.

I'm not actually wanting to change the reservation. I would love to keep the one we're scheduled on, but it no longer exists. I just want to make sure we actually have a return flight.

New question: Is it common for airlines to remove your flight, but then not re-schedule you on a new flight for a long time?

Since they switched the outbound & not the return, I'm concerned that somehow we slipped through the cracks when they re-scheduled flights.

If this is common, I won't worry about it & just wait for them to get around to re-scheduling us.

I have been ticketed for flights which were cancelled and never had the airlines reschedule me. That was left up to me.

That said, since your flight is not until December, I would not be too concerned about not yet being rescheduled. Just keep an eye on the situation.
