Airline Prices - Any Thoughts?

I'm not sure if we have any airline insiders or fare history buffs, but I just went to price a flight from DFW to MCO and it's over $500 per ticket. I usually pay around $200 MAX!

My dates of travel are June 2 through June 9 and I like to leave DFW early and return on an afternoon flight from Orlando.

Am I trying to book too late? Do you think prices may go down?

Thanks for any insight, thoughts and info you can provide.

AirTran has flight for $89/each way on those dates. Both legs leave in the early evening. What you could do (and this is what I do) at those prices is try to fly in the night before and stay over at a cheap hotel. I've found to get low airfare I have to take the incovenient flights.

Yes, that's an option, but I am reluctant to book that incase some fare sales come out and I can get the flights I want.

Thanks for the suggestion, though. I may use it as a last resort if it's still available.
