We haven't flown since 9/11. We drove from VT in February. We are leaving on Friday. I have the following questions if anyone can help.

1. How many carry-ons allowed?

2. Can you bring electronics?

3. How early to arrive?

4. Has anyone used travelocity? I don't have a paper ticket, just a downloaded piece of paper reading that I purchased five tickets giving dates and numbers.

Thanks.

Tim.

The best bet is to check with your airline on their up to date carry on restrictions, but generally they are allowing one carry on bag per person, plus a personal carry bag. What this means is a purse, diaper bag, laptop bag, camera bag things like that, plus ONE carry on bag.. That was the general rule on our trip to WDW last month..

You can bring electronics, be prepared for them to scan unless you request a hand check.. They may possibly make you turn them on as well to make sure that they work..

A lot of airlines differ in requirements as to when you should arrive at the airport. I have heard that most airlines are asking you to be at the airport 2 hours before departure. Some have been saying 1 1/2 hours. I know a couple posters here said SWA is only saying 1 hour.. Your best bet is to get there early if you can. You never know if you will encounter a long line through security.. It also depends on what time of day and what day of the week you are flying too I suppose.

I have never used Travelocity, but I assume that it would be treated like any other e-ticket.. Make sure you do bring the printout because they will usually ask to see that. However they should have you in the computer as well, but having your paper receipt with you is always a good bet.

As Sgtdisney said, check with the Airline you are flying.

Suggested arrival times vary from airport to airport depending on its size. A small airport may just require you to get there less an hour before, but a hub make take longer up to two hours. Take advantage of curbside check-in if your airline has it. That saves a bunch of time right there. And yes you can still use it with an eticket, but have the printout.

Hello, I work for Air Canada, so maybe I can help.
1. Each person is allowed one carryon, 9"x13"x21.5"...you can also bring *one* of the following without being considerd part of your carryon. Briefcase, laptop, purse, portable electronics. BTW, max of 22lbs.

2. Electronics, you can bring most electronics except you have to make sure you can power it up at security checkpoints. This means an extra battery just to make sure. If you can't get the item to work, it will be confiscated. (you can get it fedexed back to you at your expense of course thru the lost and found at arpts.
For domestic, 1hour is the minimum. I would show up 1.5h early at a big arpt, and for a small one, 1hour will be enough.

3. I've only used travelocity for hotel reservations, but it sound like you've got an eticket. That's what all the major airlines use nowadays (except some international points w/o the capabilities.) Point is, its legal. Security are used to them..but the emailed version of the itin is only legal domestically. For transborder/intl you need to get a non-emailed itin. Guess its more official. Ticketless travel kicks butt!
Have a good trip!
Tara
