I haven't flown in 5 years and don't know how to do this. IF we buy tickets on line for SW how do we checkin 24 hours ahead of time if we are at the Disney Resort? Do they have computers that you can use to do this? Is $700 round trip for 4 a good price for August?

We planned on driving but 15 hours in a car each way or $700 - I think $700 :)

Thanks for your help!

When I was at POP Century, and flying on SW, I stopped at the front desk area the night before I was to fly home. It was about 1:30 am, EMHs at MK that night, and I was flying at about 6:00 the following night. They had no problem at all printing out my boarding passes. I did manage to get section A too....must have been my lucky night/morning!
I believe there are also spots in the parks that you can head to in order to do on-line checkins, but I haven't done that myself.

Thanks - we're staying at POP that makes me feel better know I can do it there. I was reading that ME did participate with SW. We are renting a car too so I won't need ME and didn't know if the front desk would do it for me.

What do you mean by A?

Because SW does not assign seats when you book, you get assigned a section, A, B, or C, when you checkin online. When it comes time to board, those who qualify as 'preboarders' get to board and choose their seats. Then, those who got section A boarding passes board the plane and choose their seats, then section B and finally section C people. If flying with a group that wants to sit together, then you should checkin at the 24 hr mark. I've never had an issue being seated with my flying companions so far, and even those with the tail end of the section B's seem to be able to find seats together, but at the back of the plane.

As far as SW actually participating with DME...all airlines participate upon arrival at MCO. It's the end of the trip and the return to the airport where 'participating' comes into play. Those that are flying a 'participating' airline are entitled to check their luggage at their resort, and get their boarding passes right then. When they take the DME bus back to MCO, they have only their carryon bags and can go right to security. With SW, you can get your boarding pass printed out at the front desk, but you are not able to check your luggage at the resort. There is a special spot for those that are able to do that....not at the front desk per se.
I hope this doesn't just confuse matters for you. If so, just tell us what you find confusing and we'll try to explain.

If you are in any of the parks at the 24-hour mark, go to Guest Relations and they will print out your boarding passes.
