I've asked this same question of my online friends on Face Book so here goes again :)

Does anyone have any views on flying with United Airlines, Lufthansa or Virgin?

Hoping to take a trip to CA next May and all the prices are coming out similar (got some Virgin Airmiles to use up which makes their prices comparible)

Have used Virgin to fly to Florida before but know nothing about the others :confused3

Thanks for your help.

:wave2:

If they are all a similar price then it would be down to the route and times for me.
Lufthansa usually fly via Germany, I would not want to go all that way to come back.
I really don't care which airline I fly on, I am more bothered about the above.

Google might be able to tell you the differences in airlines....I personally haven't been on any of those.

All the flights I have looked at have been direct Wayne with no changes.
Flying from London to LAX and home from San Francisco.
The flight times are all similar so it's just a matter of which one to go for really :)

OK, just had a quick look at what is available. Lufthansa don't fly out there as I supected (most of their flights are via Germany)
Is it Lufthansa – Flight 9342 to LAX and Flight 9379 back from San Fran?
They are both operated by United
So wouldn't matter if you bought Lufthansa or United tickets they are both on the United planes.

Looks to be only 3 airlines do these routes direct, United, VA & BA

I have only done the VA flight to LAX but its a few years ago now. We actually missed the 11:30am flight due to bad weather, accidents and roadworks down the M1, VA were excellent, tranferred us to the afternoon flight at no cost.

Thanks Wayne :)
The Luftansa flight appeared after doing a search on Opodo and I do seem to recall there being the name of another airline in small print below it.
We might try United Airlines for a change but, I guess, there won't be much to choose between really.
Getting excited now :cool1:
