When you book a trip through Disney's website you can get airfare - can you book airfare through DVC too? It is usually cheaper through Disney then trying by myself which is why I am asking and I know it is due to bulk on Disneys end plus the package deal. But I am asking as a new DVC member since we are planning our first trip for August and I have to wait until my time is approved at work before I can book anything.

you definitely can.

but would go check the transportation board for deals on airlines.

nj seems to get alot of them.

I thought DVC stopped handling air reservations a few months back.

You can get some great deals flying from NJ. Try Yahoo Farechase to find the lowest fares from Newark to Orlando, you will usually find that Jet Blue comes in the cheapest, and they are great to fly with kids because of the tvs at every seat, and great for us Northeasterners who love our Dunkin Donuts coffee:love:

Also, if you are not to far north, you should consuder flying out of Philly on Southwest. Southwest has some of the lowest fares available, but unfortunately they do not fly out of Newark.

It's alomost always cheaper to check the airlines websites directly...loolk for the best deal.... and book it yourself. Cut out the middle man and save youreslf some cash for spending money! Good luck!

Hi: Spirit is running a fair amount of specials leaving from Atlantic City (ACY). They even had a few $ 9 each way specials two days ago. I would check their website. Good luck.

thanks everyone - i live in south Jersey about an hour from AC and about 45 minutes from Philly. Newark is a long car trip for our kids 5,4 & 1. Especially if they know we are going to see Mickey.

We're comming home 2/24 and found the best fare out of philly on airtran, constantly check their web specials

http://www.kayak.com also has a great fare watcher feature and you get emails every day for what you're looking for. you can track fares indefinitely on a little price graph and they have a lot of options available to customize your particular requirements. living in an area like DC, i can watch muliltiple airports, i can select fly in / out of the SAME airport, you can use a little slider to set your flight time parameters (so you don't just say "early morning" you can actually say you want to watch only flights between 7 am and 10 am if that's what you want...they provide links directly to the airlines and to other online booking sites (like Orbitz or Expedia). another new thing they added recently was a link to check the airline fees for luggage! breaks all the airlines down one by one to tell you who is charging how much for zero bags, 1 bag or 2 bags. (i think SW is the only one not charging any more!) i highly recommend kayak.:thumbsup2

i have never found disney's flight prices to be the cheapest from our area and they almost always throw in a transfer somewhere. i am not willing to take a 2 hr. flight and turn it into a 5 or 6 hr. flight bcuz of transfers.
