I just had to tell someone who would get it. I just booked airfare out of Bangor Maine to MCO return for 186 canadian dollars, taxes in.. It would cost me 4 times this to fly out of my Canadian airport. No turning back now, this summer we are going back to Flordia.

I know.. i got a slightly cheaper deal out of Portland.. Awesome eh?

It is funny but PWM was twice as much for the same dates. Since it is Aug. only Delta is out now but at less than 200 I could not pass it up. I know Delta will change my flights 10 times before summer but i am ready for it at this price the peace of mind of having it booked is worth it.

Thanks for posting peanutgirl:thumbsup2 .

I think our days of flying out of Halifax are long gone. I am so willing to drive 8-10 hours to get to a US airport  . We have driven from NS to Orlando a few times, so driving this distance to get a deal on airfare is not an issue at all.:rotfl:

Oh I get it! I so get it! My friends still can't believe that we get that kind of airfare by driving 10 hours....they think there must be some catch. :rotfl:

When we flew out of Portland in Sept I actually blew a raspberry at the airport exit when we passed Halifax International....oh wait....it's called Stanfield now isn't it? Regardless....as I said on another thread the only way I'll fly out of a Canadian airport any time soon is if someone else is paying for it!

That's so great! I couldn't resist and booked our air for Sept too. The $500+ savings is worth the 3 hour drive! I'm SO done with the Canadian airlines!

Flying with Air Canada this coming January for the three of us would have cost between $1600 to $2100, depending on when we bought. I just kept watching to see if the price would go down.

THen our fantastic TA got us a direct flight on Sunwing, meal included, for $562.00 for all three of us!! That is return. I am pretty happy with that deal and since the airport is twenty minutes from my house I will save a bit on gas to!!!

Hi Pl'smama: goodvibes

Can I ask where are you flying from?

Last June , six of us flew from Syracuse (3 hour drive from Ottawa) and we saved about $2400.00.
We plan on another trip in March, but I was hoping we could save the 3 hour drive and fly directly from Ottawa.

Thanks,

Hi pjmoore, we are flying from Pearson in Toronto. It is hard to resist a much cheaper flight from somewhere else, isn't it? My DH did not want to drive to Buffalo in the middle of winter so we would have paid the high Air Canada cost if necessary. Thankfully we don't.

Have a great trip when you go!

The Sunwing deal sounds Sweet... I would much rather fly out of Canada, especially Hamilton but the flights were double(actualy more then that!)
Sooner or later our airlines are going to have to see that they are loosing too much business to cross border flights.
