OK I have a question concerning airfare prices. I live in Michigan and would consider going to several differnt airports, I am just curious when is the best time to buy tickets and how do you get such good deals? (I believe someone said $155 round trip!) Everything I find is over 300 round trip.

Did you try Northwest? Their hub is in Detroit. Often they are the cheapest out of Syracuse. We have to travel to Detroit to get to Orlando, but we save a ton of $.

Well we traved NWA when we went last year and I belive we paid around $250 out of Grand Rapids. RIght now they are around $300 something too for a nonstop out of Grand Rapids. We live in Kalamazoo and would rather not use Detriot. We'd use Lansing, Grand Rapids, K-zoo or even Battle creek. We don't want to travel forever just to get to the airport to sit and wait another 2 hours.

I often use expedia, to check out who has the best deals, and then go to that airline's web site to book. Saves the $5.00 booking fee from expedia. Once in a while, expedia's price beats the airline's price, but not often.

Also, I've noticed the past few weeks, that Airtran drops their fares around 12A-1A, for a few hours. By 9A they are right back up. I don't know if they are an option for you or not.

Good luck- Have a great trip.

Just keep checking. We are flying out of Detroit next month and booked our flight on NWA website. We are paying $185 Canadian a person. When we first went to book it was over 200 US then when we finally got to book it there was a sale. Just lucky I guess. Keep trying.

By the way, that price was for flying into Orlando and out of Tampa (by choice) from Monday to Monday.

Hi Charitylynn! I'm traveling from Grand Rapids to Orlando in May, and the cheapest rate I have found is $247 on US Air. I didn't book it, because of the whole bankrupcy thing. Have you tried sidestep? It is a search engine that will compare prices from different airlines for you. Otherwise, just check every day and if you see a price lower than $220, I would jump on it. Good Luck! :cheer2:
