We're planning an October trip and I started checking airfare just too see what the rates are if booking this early. Jetblue is my first choice but their schedule is not available past Sept 6.

Delta is offering a great rate at $84( including taxes and fees and a non-stop flight!!). I'd like to wait to see what Jetblue will be offering for late October but the Delta rate seems too good to pass up. Also, if I wait I fear that I may be disappointed with the rate and the Delta rate may no longer be available.

Any advise from the pros out there?

Thanks. :confused3

Oh. I thought you meant $84 round trip.
I'd wait. Right now, JetBlue is $59 or $69 each way. I bet there'll be fare sales between now and October.

I started keeping track of the October airfares last year knowing I would be booking for October 2006.They started at $355.40 roundtrip 3/23/2005 with sales fares released on 7/19/2005 @ $135.40. These were on Jet Blue. Song was similar but I don't trust them keeping flights once booking them and not sure if their planes to MCO still have the TV's. The only cheaper fares were on Southwest out of PVD....released on 8/17/2005....only $115.00 roundtrip....these are all nonstop flights. I am not sure when JetBlue released fares into October last year but I will be waiting until around that July date for the lowest fares even though it kills me to wait so long to buy my tickets, I'm a planner...can you tell??!! ::MinnieMo

Wait and the prices will come down. October is a long way from here to buy your plane tickets.

if you want to save money, you will probably end up going delta, they still seem to be selling the song direct routes under song name even though song wont be there technically anymore.. but we have always priced delta against jet blue, and jet blue has never been cheap, its always costs alost more. with delta/song, the $79 you pay is with the added fees, with jet blue, it is not. all our trips jet blue would have costs us several hundred more $$ than delta/song out of boston.. :wizard:

Thanks to all for the advise. I think I will wait for now. One thing that also makes me nervous about booking so early is I recall reading a post last year from someone who had booked close to a year early only to find as the travel date came near that the times of the fights had changed and they were not happy with the new schedule...I like to leave as early as possible and come back late in the day.
