Air Tran seat assignment question

Can anyone please tell me when I can reserve a seat without having to pay for it? I thought I heard it was one week out, but that can't be correct since it is still coming up as $6 each way.

24 hour mark is when they are free for all...and that is a free for all. IF you have family you want to sit with...especially kids buy your seats ahead of time. It is a roll of the dice if you try to get seats together at the 24 hour mark...especially going to MCO.

Agreed. You won't be able to do this until check-in at the 24 hour mark. I also agree that if you have young children you really should bite the bullet and pay to reserve seats.

I do it ahead of time no matter what! I dont like to sit inbetween strangers lol

Thank you! Now I know it is 24 hours. I'm actually sending my daughter alone on the flight so it isn't that big of a deal where she sits. She will definitely be next to someone.
