The last time I flew them, which was last Sept the fees were like $20.00 for exit row seats, $15.00 for the first few rows after first class, $13.00 for the next few rows, then the rest were $6.00. The higher priced seats $20.00, $15.00, and $13.00 guarantee you boarding zone 1 (if you prepurchase them). If those seats are available at the 24 hour mark, you can choose them for free, but you will be in boarding zone 7, instead of boarding zone 1. I've seen people argueing with the gate agent that they should be in boarding zone 1, because they chose those seats. The GAs tell them that if you prepay for those more expensive seats, you get boarding zone 1, but if you choose them for free at the 24 hour mark, you get the last boarding zone.
