Hi all,

This will be my first time flying since I was a kid, as well as my first time buying airfare. My vacation is already booked for mid May 2013. Right now, Air Tran has flights from Memphis to MCO at $160 each way. Other airlines out of Memphis are $240+ each way, and Southwest out of Nashville is $190. Am I crazy to wait and hope for a sale or price drop? It's been at the same price for the past two months, and now I'm starting to worry that it could increase instead. I'm so new to this! Any thoughts?

If you are comfortable with the price, I would say book now.

Airtran will credit you if the flight price drops after booking. You can use those credits to pay for baggage fees or upgrade to business class at the 24-hour mark.

No one really knows if the prices will increase or decrease. Your best bet is to decide what you are willing to pay, purchase when the airfare costs are within your comfort zone, then keep an eye on the costs and call if the price goes down.
