Air Tran Baggage Fees

If I book through SW for an Air Tran flight do I have to pay baggage fees?

If you book AirTran via Southwest there are no baggage fees. However you also can't select your seats and they will be assigned when you check in on line and can only be changed at the gate, and maybe not even then because of availability.

So are the seats on Air Tran actually assigned or do you pick your seat upon boarding like on Southwest?

They are assigned by AT at the gate.

They use the SW baggage fee schedule if booked on SW.

Booked on AT, it's AT's business as usual for their own flights (seating and baggage fees)
