We have 4 cats and a dog. Therefore we are in the market for a couple of air purifiers, in the bedroom and living room. What have you used in the past that you were happy with? We don't want to spend hundreds of dollars either. We appreciate all info! Thanks!

I have a Holmes brand running in my office right now. You can really tell the difference when you walk in my office. Air smells much fresher. Paid $29.99 for mine off ebay.

Honeywell Enviracaire is what I used ALL over my house when my son was little. They worked better than any other we tried and we tried LOTS. Not cheap but not anywhere near as expensive as some.

I was going to post the same question. It seems like the air is so dry, both DS's and I are waking up w/stratchy throats due to the heat running at night.

Are air purifiers the same as humidifiers?:confused3

No. One cleans the air and the other adds humidity to the air.
