Air Miles for 1-day/1-park upgrade to 1-day/2 parks at US/IOA?

If I use Air Miles to buy tickets for 1-day/1 park, can I upgrade at Universal/Islands of Adventure to 1-day/2 parks tickets? Also, is there an added fee to do so (or any other reason) that would make this a bad idea?

not sure about adding park hopper. But twice I bought US tickets with airmiles and was able to add days to the tickets. I had to pay the difference.

I know it's not answering exactly your question but I hope it help.

Maybe you can email them and ask. That way you have the response printed if you run into trouble at the gate.
